Thank You Card Etiquette

I am unsure how to address a thank you card to my husband's boss. We invited the boss and his wife to the wedding. Only the boss came. The card was signed only by the boss. The gift (check) was written from a joint account. So do we write the thank you card just to the boss or to the boss and his wife?

I would think that you should acknowledge both your DH's boss & his wife. If they were invited as a couple & gave you a gift together, then the thank you should be addressed to Mr. & Mrs.

I did both their first names
e.g. Tom and Diane

I had the same situation - I addressed the card with both names, because I didn't want the wife to feel left out, since technically the gift was from both of them.
