How many of you have sent them out already? I haven't even gotten mine printed yet...I feel like I'm so behind! What's the etiquette for sending these out - is the maximum 6 months post wedding day?

Re: Thank You cards
I sent them out to my side, but not DH's yet and we got married in May
We ran out and had to order more
They say, send them within a year, but I think 6-months is a good goal to go by.
You got married in July, you have nothing to worry about IMO

Re: Thank You cards
I have to call the photographer tomorrow with my picture choices. I am hoping to have them out by the middle of October... about 4 and a half months after the wedding.

Re: Thank You cards
sent them out in mid august....
I think the time frame is highly dependent upon your culture. Americans expect it in about 3 mo, or even 6 mo, but europeans don't expect the custom cards, but DO expect a TY within a month or 2........
the poles considered ours a little on the late side , but I refused to forgo the custom cards by our photographer....

Re: Thank You cards
We just picked out our pic about a week ago, so we should have them by next week sometime. Then comes the fun part..writing them!! But I hope to have them all out by October. I think thats okay.

Re: Thank You cards
Technically you have up to a year to send them out, tho most couples get them out within the first 6 months. I got them out after 5 months.
Don't worry, you're fine!!

Re: Thank You cards
Mine were out less than a month after the wedding. I would try to get them out ASAP. I wouldn't go longer than 6 months (I'd try not to go longer than 4 if I'm being honest.)
I didn't need mine to be printed b/c we didn't do photo thank yous. I had stationery printed with Mr. and Mrs. Todd Middle Last to match our invites when we ordered our invites.
Just get them out as soon as you practically and comfortably can. Try not to let it go past 6 months if you can help it.
Good luck! They can be a giant pain in the butt -- but people do appreciate receiving them.

If I'm being honest, I don't think waiting a year to get them out is appropriate. 6 months I can understand, but unless you had 500 people at the wedding, I think most people think 1 year is pushing it on the etiquette...
I know with photo cards, etc., people have to wait to get their proofs and then to get the cards printed -- so they aren't in the boat I was where I had my thank yous before the wedding and could start as soon as I got back from the honeymoon.
Once you have them, though, just push through it to get it done. I sat down and wrote out a certain amount EVERY day without fail. (And I work 60-70 hours a week on average) It's a giant pain, but worth it to thank the people who were so generous on your wedding day.
Good luck to those still writing them out. Trust me, it's a great feeling when they are (finally!) all done!
But if you get them out within 6-7 months, you'll be fine!

You were married in April, right? That's still within 6 months! I think you're fine!
