Thank you cards to Guests who Didn't give a gift

Wanted to get some of your opinions as I am writing out my thank you cards.

I have a couple of people who came to my wedding, who gave neither a card or a gift.
Any thoughts on sending a thank you card to these people? I am inclined not to but wanted to see if any of you girls came across this situation.

Thank you in advance.

I sent them squat!!! Especially if you knew about my wedding 1 year in advance, and you can't even buy a card, I had to pay over 2 hundred dollars for you AND your guest to eat and drink all you want. As far as I'm concerned, your written off!!!!!

-rolls- LOVE the angry mel! Go on your warpath girl lmao. I will admit I fudged lil bit-we didnt send a card to one relative because they are known a holes and gave us NADA AND had the nerve to say ...'the RH stole it...' mind you, we had 4 carsd misplaced outside by guests and each one was recovered except his...the notoriously cheap one...

riiiight.

Exactly. One of these people brought a guest, and both are all over my wedding video.. They didn't even give a card. Now I have to be reminded of them and the fact they didn't give a thing.

We had a few guests who didn't even give a card and we sent them a thank you note for spending our special day with us.

We just sent cards thanking them for attending...

Dear _________,

Thank you for attending our wedding. We hope you had a good time.

Best,

We sent thank yous to everyone who attended. We only had 1 person not give a gift and sent a thank you for sharing the day with us. We didn't invite them so they would give us a gift, we invited them so they would come spend our wedding day with us and that is what they did.

I have 2 cousins who attended and no gift or card. I know guests have 1 year to give a gift, so I will say thank you for attending, hope you had a good time, (I love that line!)

As stated above I would send a thank you and just write thanks for being with us on our special day. Thankfully we did not have this issue.

I'm with the 'send one' crew. I see it this way... I invited them for a reason, right? And even if the reason was to 'keep the peace' well that's a noble aspiration... Gift or no gift, they took time to come to our party, and that deserves a thank you. Of course I wouldn't be effusive or anything, that's disingenuous, but a short note 'thank you so much for sharing in our day' would be appropriate.

My standard is simple, I am who I am (didn't Popeye say that?) and just because someone might be a cheapie doesn't mean I have to be tacky in response. If I don't send one, then for the rest of my life every time I see them or hear their names I'd be THINKING... [insert cartoon bubble here] 'Ohhh Mr & Mrs Cheapie, they're the ones who came to the wedding and didn't give us a gift; well, I got the last word, I didn't send them a TY blahblahblahblah'.

If I send the TY card I am FREEEEEE and can hold my head high knowing I showed some grace...

*NB: For the most part I was truly ASTOUNDED at our guests' generosity, I was amazed at what some guests gave us as a gift At the end of the day they MORE than make up for the cheapies (to my knowledge there were only 2 non gifters, and that was FINE with us!!)

For those who explained to me before RSVPing that they couldn't afford to but came at my urging, yes.

For those who showed up, ate as a couple, even with kids (costing us about 400) and didn't even have the courtesy to give us a 1 dollar card....i am not wasting the postage

NO WAY IN ***...We had 3 people come with no gift or card. They could of at least gave a card if they couldnt afford a gift...they're not gettin nothing from us
