We got our thank you's today and I would really like to get started on them. I am having a tough time trying to figure out how to say thank you for the monetary gifts(which is mostly what we got). Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any websites where I can get some help with this? It would be appreciated.

Thank you help ? for all - Is hubby writing any out?
Mine keeps telling me he is going to start writing some but I havent seen any action yet. What kind of participation have the rest of you experienced?

Some suggestions...
For about $6.00 I picked up a book on the Bride's guide to Thank You notes, or something like that. It's got a grean and ivory cover with fillegree designs.
They give great samples of how to thank for money, for broken gifts, for gifts you don't like, for duplicates, etc.
For money, they suggest saying things like:
Thank you for your generous gift
Thank you for your thoughtful gift
We really aprecciate your generous gift
Never mention the amount, but do say how you might use it, such as,
We've earmarked it for completing our china pattern and hope you'll come share a meal with us some day soon. Or, we've added it to our new home fund and are counting on having you be one of our first visitors...
Basically, you want to show your appreciation, mention something about the gift if it's an object, or just mention the generous gift if it's cash, and tell how you plan to use it, or how you'll enjoy it, and then thank them again.
Good luck!
PS - hubby did not help at all, but I knew that would be the case going into it, so I just didn't let it get to me.

That's funny Fran! Did my hubby write any? Ha Ha!!
I just mentioned to him last night that he needs to sign them. Just write 'Steve' on each one of the 80 or so that I wrote...and he sighed!! As if it was an inconvenience!! LOL
I bought the same book that Karen did. Every one of our gifts was monetary so with the exception of a Waterford bowl that my nephews and niece gave us :) so the book didn't help much!
It did get a tad tedious since all of the money went into a savings account for our down payment so you have to be a bit creative...
Good luck!

Mine is no help at all..
Even if I did ask him to write them out no one would be able to read them. He has lousy handwriting. I had resigned myself to being the thank you writer a long time ago. Since I did pretty much everything else I knew this task would be mine too!! My hubby is a great guy though so I don't really mind.
During the last few weeks we have been testing out the sickness part of the vows and he has been my rock!! Writing out the thank you notes is the least I can do.
Thanks for the suggestions all.

HAHAHAHAHA - hubby writing them!
That's hysterical. My hubby wouldn't even sign his own name! But like others here, I did the whole wedding myself and expected that...there are lots of other reasons I love him! But if you can get him to help at all I say go for it!!
