Thank you note organization

Thank you note organization

I got married in Sept. 2000 and between engagement, shower, and wedding gifts, I composed close to 300 thank you notes. I found that creating a 'system' for writing these notes helped my to complete the task without falling over or going prematurely gray.

I recently started my own business as a Professional Organizer and I am considering writing a book on how to organize the content of a nuptial-related thank you note using the 'system' I created. Another book I have an interest in writing is on how to organize the nuptial-related thank you note writing process (including sample thank you's, guest list/gift list charts, organizing tips, etc.)

Do you think there is a need for such products for brides and brides-to-be? Any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks!

Re: Thank you note organization

My biggest 'thank you' problem was finding the words for some of my gifts. I bought two wedding 'thank you' books but most of the samples were the same.

The hardest ones were usually from people who sent a gift but didn't attend the event (engagement party, shower, wedding).
I wanted to sound genuine w/o sounding too happy about the fact they missed the event.

I could use advice on how to thank people for money gifts (aside from 'thanks for the generous gift'), and what to say to people who don't come to the wedding, but give a gift.
Any thoughts?
