Re: thank you time frame
You have a year to send out thank you cards. However, most brides like to get it done between 3-6 months.

i dont have my proofs yet either but i hate the fact that i see many guests from my wedding all the time and still dont have a thank you out to them. id feel really bad waiting too long so im gonna rush to get it done once i get those proofs in.

Re: thank you time frame
truthfully, it depends upon the background of your guests... generally, americans find 3 mo acceptable... but if you have a lot of foreign or immigrant guests, the time line is usually much shorter...
I know I was considered to be on the late side by the polish side of the family, and I sent them out 7 weeks after the wedding (I don't have to tell you how hard it was to get those cards printed, and then in the mail in that time frame)

Re: thank you time frame
I'm going to try to get mine out before Thanksgiving (so within 3-4 months of the wedding).

i have to say, i hate waiting for thank you's. i think it's incredibly rude. i had all mine out with 6 weeks. i quickly chose one pic i liked and i had him make just copies of that one shot for the thank you's. OR you can upload a pic (i'm sure you have lots of digital images from friends) and make copies on snapfish or one of those on-line photo places. OR send your thank you without a photo. i would much rather receive a timely and thought-out thank you note without a photo than one months later with a photo.

I don't agree with this. My photog took exactly two months and 5 days to get my proofs to me. I quickly picked out three pics and had him order my TY cards. As soon as I got them - I began writing them and they went out 3 months and 2 days after my wedding. Picking out a non-pro pic isn't an option for me. None of them were good enough to send as a TY. My wedding was very well planned and thoughtout and putting together a TY card with a picture one of my friends took or one without a pic even - wasn't an option for me. Also, I've personally never waited for a TY to come in from a wedding I've attended. I competely sympathize with brides that go on their HM, move, get used to living with DH etc.... and would never put a time frame on when I expect them to send me a TY.

I totally agree. For me personally, I waited awhile before getting my proofs back, and I am just now finalizing my thank you's. For me the thank you is important..but I would rather have it done perfectly with a professional picture then just send out anything to fit a certain timeline. JMO.
