Thank you's

I need some help. What wording are you putting in your thank you's.

In most of them, we wrote 'Thank you for your generous gift. It was greatly appreciated. And thank you for sharing in our special day.'

Etiquettes says that you should always start with' Thank you for your generous gift'...then name the gift. All of them start that way but then personalize it. If we got money, then we thanked them for their generousity and said what we wnated to sue the money towards; new couch, kitchn table etc, and mentioend how our door was always open in case they wanted to drop by and try out the new kitchen table /couch whatever with us.

If they gave us something for the house, I mentioned how much I loved using my new dishes ebcause they make every meal more exciting (colroed fiestaware) or how the new pan doesnt burn my eggs anymore.

I got a lot of compliments on my ty cards actually (people telling my mom, and my MIL who passed it on) because even though I followed a 'formula' they were personal and witty and people really liked that.

I am dreading this too......I think I might try to get them done this weekend......
