So it is 3 months after my wedding and I just got my thank yous on Friday , so I need to get moving. My question is - did you personalize all your thank yous?
I want to make them all personalized, but almost all of our guests gave us checks and some of them I never met before and only saw for a few minutes at the wedding. Did you personalize all your thank yous? Or just the thank yous of your close relatives/friends?

I am in the process of doing them now...and NO I did not personalize each and every one of them, only because I didnt know each person very well...didnt have anything 'personal' to say...and they gave checks...

talk about get moving we still didnt pick our pic forour thank yous yet! We have been so busy with house hunting, work and i am working on my thesis! I better get my a$$ in gear and pick this pic!

I used 4 different messages & switched off....a few I personalized, but most weren't.

I only personalized family and good freinds.
Everyone else got something like 'Thank you so much for coming to our wedding and for the thoughful/lovely/ generous gift. It meant so much to both of us you were there on our big day.
For family and friends I put 'LONG AWAITED big day' because everyone joked how after 8 years it was about time.

I tried to personalize for everyone, but for some people that I REALLY didn't know, of course I couldn't. But if I knew someone traveled from far to be at the wedding, I mentioned that. Or, if I noticed someone really had a good time dancing at the reception, I mentioned that. So little things like that make a thank you more personal, without being too time intensive.

Right now I'm doing the people who gave a gift but didn't come and I keep saying 'We're sorry you couldn't be there but I'm sure you were there in spirit.' :

I personalized my family, one side of DH's family and my friends. I did write something nice in all the rest, but not as 'personal' as those ones

I personalized all of my thank you's...IMHO, that is the best way to do it.
