This is how stubborn my husband is -
This fine morning he tells me that he's going to take a walk down to the OTB to put $100 bet on 'Dennis of Cork' to win. He said he had 'a feeling' about that particular horse. Whatever. I mentioned that there was a horse called Da'Tara and that I thought that he should put the $100 bet on that horse in honor of his lovely wife, who just so happens to be named Tara.
He says, not so jokingly, I am sick of throwing money away on Taras. Fine. Just fine, bucko.
Fast forward to the race and dontchayaknow - Da'Tara wins at 38 to 1. Dennis of Cork blows it along with Mr. Big Stuff's $100. He could have won $3,800 on the Tara horse had he simply listened to his darling wife.
Here's the real kick in the crotch though -his brother just called to tell us that he won $900 on Da'Tara. He said he couldn't help but place a bet on that horse because of my name.![]()
