So some of you know that DH is divorced, and he attempted to get a church annullment so we could be married in the church. His ex vigorously contested it and made up a lot of lies (very very terrible things - we have considered taking legal action against her as she put them in writing, but there is no real gain, so we probably won't).
We were married on 12/12. We find out in early January that the annulment was granted on 12/28. Good news, we can go to our church and have the marriage blessed, yay.
Not so fast. The woman has appealed the annulment decision. We did not even know this was possible. She does not have a problem that it was granted, but apparently objects to the grounds on which it was granted.
Ugggg. Just wanted to vent.

Re: The Drama Continues
Sorry this woman is still giving you grief! It amazes me that she cannot move on and let it go. Hopefully it will pass and you can have your marriage blessed by the church.

Re: The Drama Continues
Oh man, so sorry Tracey! I think I would have smacked the $hit our of DH's EX-W if she ended up contesting their divorce.
The one thing that was actually VERY lucky for us, is that up until March of last year - DH was never baptized (long story as to why his parents never did) yet when DH got married the 1st time - they never even asked for his baptismal certificate, nor if he was ever baptized & he got married in a catholic church! ( ) Anyway, since he was never baptized - in the church standpoint - he is not considered legally married. so he got baptized 5 months before our wedding in the same church I did, and it was wonderful to know that our marriage in the church's eyes is considered a 1st marriage for both of us.
But man, I know what it's like to deal w/ex's who just cant let it go & cut the cord! Hope this all works out for you & SOON!

Re: The Drama Continues
We don't know if she knows that we are even already married. She might think she is holding our marriage up, but guess what, you are not. I feel like calling her and saying fight all you want, but we are already married, and we are not giving up on the annulment, so fight your battle but in the end we will win the war. I should get one of you girls to call her for me!
Laurie, that is such good luck you had, I am happy that worked out for you guys!

I'm so sorry Tracey! If she doesn't object to the annulment itself then why are they even entertaining it?! This woman needs to get a life for all that she has put you through!
