the icing on the cake!

so i get home from work today, and apparently our power went off cuz out alarm clock was blinking...and whenever our power goes out it always screws up our wireless connection!! so i was trying to fix it without any sucess...
DH's computer started working (im on his now)

we have a linksys router, so whenver this happends i just call the tech support and they walk me thru how to fix it step by step...so i call today and umm they tell me that the warranty for the router expired and that means they dont offer free tech support anymore...

soooo they want to charge me $40 for a one time tech support...WHAT?? $40 is a lot of money for a 1 time support! so basically i got angry and said i would fix it myself!

still not able to fix it!
anyone know how to reconfigure a router???

i know fine $40 not the end of the world, but we are going to be moving soon (i say soon cuz we still dont have a date) so when we move and then i have to call and set up the internet and have to pay again!!! no thank you! so basically im going to be without internet for a while!!

ughhhhhh why does everything have to be soo much money!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried just unplugging it and plugging it back in? My wireless router is always going out but like the laptop will be fine but the PS3 won't hook up to the internet. My cousin is computer genius and and told me to just unplug and plug it back in. I usually do it to both the modem and the router (moslty cause I don't know which is which ) It's always fixes the problem for us though, hope it works for you!

If you can get online through DH's, maybe you can try to look up directions online somewhere?

All the more reason to get FIOS when you move.....they give you a router and they will help you if it goes out.

When DH is having issues with his PS3 I get nervous. If that things breaks I don't even wanna know what will happen!

Re: the icing on the cake!

is there a reset button on the router? sometimes its one of those small buttons u have to press in with a pen...

if not, def try looking up troubleshoot instructions online.and if not that....call cablevision for their help. even though its the router, they may be able to help you..
