Re: The Next GTG......
Stef, is it possible for you to take the LIRR? Someone can pick you up at the station.
I'd like to go, but wouldn't be into too much wedding talk and wedding related give-aways. If there are enough new Moms and new homeowners going, than I'll consider it, since I'd have my two *favorite* topics to chat about.
LIWeddings - will any of the 'goodies' be newlywed or new parent focused? I'm only asking b/c I wouldn't have much use for a 'Bride' bachelorette cap, or an engagement photo session. We need to add some vendors to this site that are home and family related....

Re: The Next GTG......
A trip on the LIRR for me is about 2 hours each way. So we're talking a 4 hour commute plus the pick up/drop off and wait time so not really something I can do on a school night or day when I want to do anything else.
Oh and I agree with Claud it would be nice to have some non wedding related stuff for the newlyweds but since LIW vendors are mostly wedding ones I see they dont have much choice.
PS: Claud, if you won an engagement shoot, you could always use it to get a baby shoot instead :D

Re: The Next GTG......
Stef, I didn't realize it would be such a LONG train ride for you...but, this is a Friday nite, not during the week. Oh well, I understand if it's a pain for you to get there...
And, what a GREAT idea about using the engagement shoot for the BABY!!! Why didn't I think of that?? Thanks!!

Re: The Next GTG......
I dont really know much about LIRR but every trip Ive taken using it takes about an hour...then add that to the train ride from Penn Station to my house at night which is another hour. Voila - 2 hours. Admitedly, I dont really take it often so maybe Im doing something wrong.
I didnt realize it was a Friday night so it would be too bad to get there b/c I could come from work but Im a little leary of taking the train home from Penn Station so late.
Who is planning on coming?

Re: The Next GTG......
Stef, I am not an expert at the NYC/LIRR commute thing, but there HAS to be a way for you to get to Brooklyn w/o going all the way to Penn Station!! LOL!!! I think you can change trains in Jamaica or something.
Please, check out this site, and see if you can figure it out. I would do it for you, but I am not familiar w/Brooklyn, and wouldn't know where to tell you to go.
Sonicstef - 2 hours!!! No Way! It only takes 1 hour form Ronkonkoma to NYC and Deer Park is much closer.
Here's what we worked out. If you take the train to Deer Park, Ultimate Class Limousine will pick you up at the train station and wisk you to the GTG - for free of course!

Re: The Next GTG......
Hey Stef - I am in your same boat! Don't drive either and live in Queens. I am very familiar with the LIRR because a lot of my family lives out in the island and have been taking LIRR all my life to visit them. It will probably take you close to 2 hours to come home! That is why I didn't go to the first one. Time and travelling alone that late!
The train ride into Penn from Deer Park is a little over an hour on a Friday night. Then to commute to Queens (you can sub. Bklyn) would take about 45 minutes on subway (unless I cab it..then much bigger cost). The train does stop in Flatbush and Jamaica. Not sure if that is an option for you. Where I live, if I took the tarin to Jamaica, I would still have to jump on a subwaya nd it would take about the same amount of time as going into Penn. Penn would be a lot safer for me!
Oh well, just gotta wait to go to another nyc one. I went on Wednesday and had a great time! Got home after midnight (and in 15 minutes but I splurged and took a cab!)

Re: The Next GTG......
Stef, I plan on going to this one, even if its in LI, and will be taking F train back to 7th Ave. If you want we can leave together to be safer, and then you're only one stop from me, right?

Re: The Next GTG......
LIW: I forgot to thank you in that last post! That is really sweet of you and Ultimate Class to arrange.
Alina: Yippe! I will have someone to take the train back with! That is half the battle :D I still will probably want to take a cab home (its only about 20 bucks) but maybe my FH will pick me up. If he does, then he will give you a ride too if you feel comfortable with that.
Cindy, Claud, Michele - are any of you coming?

Re: The Next GTG......
Stef, I was thinking of going. I am wondering if Michele is going to go. I figured if she wanted to go I would go too. I am wondering too if any newlyweds are going. such as the people we all chatted with during the year of our planning.
