When I was getting married, I tried really hard to follow different rules, I think this is why I am so offended as to what a co-worker of mine is doing. Am I wrong to be offended that I got an email at work telling me (and our whole entire department) where they are registred (she send this out in an email before her invites went out) The email said that even if you were not to be invited to the wedding a gift would still be accepted!!! I then recieved my invitation to the wedding in my work mailbox?! When I opened the invitation up I read on the bottom. Please take note as to who's name is on the invitation. We would love to have everyone there but we just can't afford it (I understand that part) so if your spouse's name is not on the envelope please do not bring them? That just seems weird to me. Is it just me?

I guess you are not going...oh tacky from beginning to end If you cannot invite everyone from the job, then send it to the person's home. How dare her invite you w/o your hubby

I like that I will drop it off at her desk...maybe I will just drop by her office and verbally say no.

Re: The rules of wedding planning...out the window!
I don't even know what to say to this post. This co-worker is not only RUDE but she is also totally full of herself. Sending out a 'I want a gift' e-mail is a first in my book. I will probably tell this story to a few friends and we will all laugh at it. I would NEVER give someone like that a gift. I would probably also NOT attend the wedding. I would not send a gift either. I just cannot deal with people like this. No RSVP card? I would e-mail her and say 'I got your invite to the wedding but it did not include a response card. How should I let you know whether I am coming or not?' The VERY funny thing is that in very high society type weddings a response card is not included in an invite set. You are suppose to write a handwritten response on your personal stationary. I HIGHLY doubt she even knew that.......

There is no response card! Did she provide any sort of RSVP info? If she didnt I would probably ignore the entire thing - I would be that put off by it.

Re: The rules of wedding planning...out the window!
I don't know about anyone else, but I am itching to see this email.
It reminds me of the invite my DH got to a party celebrating his friends marriage 4 months prior. She told everyone in the email to bring his/her own meat to the barbeque (yes, BYOM...that's how it was said) and that they'd only provide a few drinks and condiments because they blew their wad on the wedding none of us were invited too.
People just amaze me.
