THE THREE BEARS (long)
BEAR'S BABE IS GOING TO HAVE BEAR'S BABY!!!!!!
Well, it's official, I've past my three hurdles and can now tell the world that I am 3 months pregnant and am due in September!!!
This has been the longest three months of my life because only Joe and I knew and I've been a NERVOUS WRECK because I was petrified that something was going to happen again like the last time. I have to tell you that I was not mentally ready to start trying again, so this really was a big surprise for me. I was in denial about it and refused to take a test for a week and then didn't call the dr for another 4 days after that! By the time I went for my first visit at 7 weeks, I was a complete emotional mess and when I heard the best sentence since 'will you marry me', which was 'we have a flutter', I was hysterrical crying!! Joe was grinning ear to ear, but I was a mess.
First hurdle down, next hurdle the 9 week mark, which is when I miscarried the last time. And now here's something from the 'it can only happen to me file' -- the dr is doing the sonogram and is raving about how the baby looks good and is a week further along (it measures at 10 weeks) then they thought (original due date was 9/14 and now it's 9/9) and is waving and all these good things and then says 'oh, do you have to go to the bathroom, your bladder is full and it's squishing the baby'! I had just gone to the bathroom before the sonogram, but ok, I'll go again. So I get up to get dressed and she goes, 'no, I'll keep a look out and you just go and come back'. WHAT???????? Not for nothing but, that stupid 'drape' thing they give you just barely covers my hips from he!! and my big a$$, is she kidding me? Thank God I had on a long sweater that just covered my butt -- so here I go with this stupid piece of paper that they call a drape, and walk down the hall to go pee!! Talk about embarrassing!! I was so flustered by that, I forgot to tell them to get Joe in the room to see the sonogram and felt horrible after that!!! So, everything is peachy keen, they pre-register me and send me for blood and tell me that 95% go full-term at that point. Ok, that's supposed to calm me down a bit, right? Not me.
I never threw up, but I am nauseous 24/7 and my boobs are KILLING me -- not to mention that they are getting HUGE, which makes Joe very happy. He looks at them one day and tells me how big they're getting with that look and I tell him 'don't even THINK about getting friendly buddy, you're not getting anywhere near them'!!!
And then I get bronchitis and laryngitis and that knocked me for a loop and made me an even bigger wreck because they had to give me an antibiotic and I called my OB's office a dozen times to make sure I could take that and the Robitussin.
And last night was the 3rd hurdle -- the 12 week visit where we heard the heartbeat for the first time!!! When we got out of there, we finally told our parents and today we're telling everyone. I also made him take the books out of hiding (he hid them after I miscarried) and will start reading them again. I wouldn't read anything because I felt like I was going to jinx myself because the last time I was reading everything right away. Me and my superstitions!
So, now my next hurdle is the amnio, which is scheduled for the end of this month. After that, I might be able to breathe normally!
This is another reason I've been kind of MIA from here, between being sick and then reading the drama, I couldn't deal with it!!! But here's my saga -- I had to share it with my girls!!!!!![]()
