The worst part about being married and cooking dinner every night

at least for me...


is the dreaded MEAT MAXI PAD.

This thing just grosses me out like you wouldn't believe. I just peeled it off a ring of sausage (with foot long metal tongs) and had to do my best to keep my lunch down.

Why is that thing soooooo gross?!?!?!?!?

GAG!!!!

I prefer the pad to the turkey tampon. I hate pulling the innards out of the arse.Bon appetit

yet another reason I don't like to cook.

yuck, I don't like those either. The worst part is making sure you remember to flip the meat over to peel it off before you put in the pan to cook! I just hate handling raw meat in general though. It always makes me lose my appetite.

Is it terrible that I've never used that or the fact that I don't even know what it's for?! Can someone enlighten me?

but i have to say, cleaning out the drain thingie is by FAR the most disgusting thing about cooking/housekeeping - i GAG every single time i do it. . . i make DH do it sometimes but if he isnt around and it has to be done i will

hilarious! that thing is pretty gross. i find the ones underneath chickens far worse than the ones under beef though.

you know i never really thought about it -- i've been cooking since i was like 15 -- that it never occurred to me that its gross.

but i agree with Tilde---cleaning the drain out is grosser to me.

OXO Silicone Sink Strainer




You just invert it, and the stuff just comes out!!! No touching the sink goo!!! It's fantastic

Meat Maxi-Pad - I like that.
Doesn't bother me too much. I just hate when I have one in the trash and forget to take it out. Stinky !!!!

Cleaning the strainer in the drain, no big deal.
I hate cleaning the toilet.

It's never really grossed me out, but seriously, what is it's purpose???? Does it keep the meat/chicken fresh? It's in every single package of meat/chicken that I buy, so it must have a purpose. Anyone know what it is?

Absorbs any 'juices' that the meat gives up while in the package, so that it doesn't drip all over you and in the meat case.
