Things to change my name on....

So far I've thought of:
Credit Cards
Social Security Card
Driver's License
Health insurance

I know I'm forgetting a million other things...can someone give me a list? Thanks!

Re: Things to change my name on....

Other than passport, you've made all the changes I did. I was so thrilled to change my name on everything, but now I don't see the rush. I love my DH and I'm honored to share his name, but I miss my maiden name. I feel like I lost a little of my identity.

Good Luck,
Kelly

Re: Things to change my name on....

I would first change your SS card then you can change everything else, like:

Just show proof, bring/submit your Marrage Licence
-Drivers Licence
-PassPort
-Bank Accounts
-Work Documents: Paycheck, 401K, Beneficary Forms
-Credit Cards
-Insurance: Medical, Dental, Car

Re: Things to change my name on....

Is it a problem if i started to change my name on my credit cards and bank accounts before my SS card? They need my original Marriage Certificate and i didn't want to wait that long to change the other things.

Re: Things to change my name on....

I would do the SS account first, but you can probably go ahead and start changing credit cards. None of mine needed to see the marriage license. However, to change the name on my bank account, work stuff, student loan, and retirement plans, I did have to send a copy of the marriage certificate.

Good luck!
