Re: thinking about having kids?

Nope not alone.
DH and I got married in September and will start TTC in the next couple of months.
Lots of bride's on here have babies right after they get married.
I think its a personal decision since everyone's situation is different.

Re: thinking about having kids?

I was ready as soon as we got married, however, we moved to Ireland so we decided to wait until we were here for awhile. I got pg 9 months after our wedding. I think its a personal decision and if you are ready go for it. It is an exciting experience.

i don't think it is too soon. DH and would have tried TTC, but we want to find a house and settle in first.

Re: thinking about having kids?

I don't think it's too soon. I'm pregnant now & we got pregnant in October (5 months). If you feel you are ready then you are ready. It's Your's & DH decision.

Re: thinking about having kids?

Getting PG or trying to conceive is a completely personal decision...
How long you have been married and when you get pg is completely up to you to decide. We are all different..
IMO...we want to wait. I am in no rush to have a child. I want to see what married life is like for a while...My friend got pg right away....
To each his/her own

Re: thinking about having kids?

you are not alone, we are married 8 months and trying...it really is all about what you and your husband are ready for.....I've heard SO many times to wait, but we don't want to. Do what you two think is best and if you're getting grief about it, don't tell anyone you're trying

Re: thinking about having kids?

We too would like to spend time as a married couple before the kids come. My parents strongly encourage us to travel as much as possible like they did before having kids. And my girlfriends who have kids now, tell us they would have like to have waited longer.
But yes, it is a personal decision and it should only be up to you and DH.
We decided to travel alot this next year and start trying end of '05 - near our 2 year anni.
By then we will have seen the world and our house will be completely remodeled :)

Re: thinking about having kids?

i think about it every day & we talk about it often. we've decided to wait until we've been married 2 1/2 years to start trying (we've been married one year now). at that point we think we will probably be more settled, have a good deal of money saved up so i can stay home for awhile, have work done to the house. and although i know its a logical plan, it will be difficult to wait that long- i want children very much.
