turning my train into a Christening outfit for the baby. My train was detachable. But then I think, am I really going to need the rest of my dress? I was ready to donate my gown after the wedding, but DH said no, just save it for now. Have you ever known anybody to reuse their gown? Even if I did want to reuse it, who says it'll fit? Do I really think my daughter will use it? Could I have more questions?

My train is also detachable and I may do the same thing when the time comes. As for the rest of the dress, I'm keeping it for sentimental reasons and if my daughter wants to wear it for her wedding that's great and if not then that's great too. But I def want to hold onto it just in case!!

I'm also thinking about doing the same thing with my train (also detachable). I still don't know what I want to do with the dress. Part of me wants to sell it but part of me really wants to preserve it for sentimental reasons. I have the same hang-ups though about whether it's worth it and if my daughter (if I have one even) will want it. I'm still undecided.
Would the train have to be preserved separately if it was going to be used for a Christening gown or would you just not preserve it?
