Third Update: Prayers Answered with pic

I posted recently about my sister who had gone into pre-term labor. She had been sent home from the hospital last week and put on bed rest. Well, the doctor is sending her back to the hospital because the contractions have not stopped. If the baby is born now, it is likely that she will not be able to go home right away because her lungs may not be developed enough. The DR is hoping that they can delay things for one more week.

Please keep Leslie (my sister) and Abigail (the baby) in your thoughts.

The LIW Prayer Squad always comes through!!!!!

Update:

The prayers must be working! She was sent home from the hospital, but will be on complete bed rest until the baby comes, which they say could be soon.

Second Update;

OMG. She just called to tell me her water broke!!!! Please keep your fingers crossed that she has an easy and safe delivery.

Third Update:

Thank you so much for all of your thoughts, prayers and good wishes. Abigail Caitlyn was born at 1:08 this morning. Mom and baby are doing well. I can't wait to see them this evening. I'll post pics when I have some!

If she does give birth early, how early would she be? My twin niece and nephew were born two months early and pulled through after a few weeks in the NICU.

She's approx. 35 1/2 weeks. I'm glad to hear that your niece and nephew are well!

I thought I would share that 35 1/2 weeks is not horribly early (though not ideal).

My cousin was born at about 25 weeks. While she did spend time in the NICU (about two months) she just turned 13 a few weeks ago. You would NEVER know that she was that premature.

Please keep in mind that there has now been 13 years of medical advances and girls fare better then boys in these situations (we are just naturually stronger).

Wow . . . 25 weeks! She's a little miracle baby! Well, teenager now, but you know what I mean!

DH was born two months early. I'm told he only weighed 4 lbs . . . although you'd never guess that to look at him now!
