This is getting a little out of control

This Swine Flu 'pandemic' is approaching retarded proportions.

NOW School teams can't shake hands after a game in fear of swine flu. Newsday interviewed basketball and soccer coaches who said now the kids flash the peace sign in lieu of a handshake.

BUT my thinking is....by the time they go up to shake hands, haven't they been touching the BALL (which is used by every team member) during the whole game? So what's a little handshake? Your hands are dirty anyway, and you are going to the locker room to take a shower or wash your hands at the very least. (I would hope)

I just think the media is creating such unwarranted fear, that people are going nuts!!!

Hundreds if not thousands of people die each year of the flu and that never makes the news.

Ok I'm stepping off my soapbox now!

I agree - I don't want to hear about Swine Flu anymore. Just wash your hands often and do whatever it is you normally do to remain healthy. End of story.

Jeez... And I read an article last night that explained that the swine flu isn't as bad as everyone fears....

The whole thing is being blown out of proportion because the media doesn't have anything else they want to cover right now.

I was leaving Trader Joe's and the Cashier asked me before I left if I wanted to try some of their 'hand sanitizer' for free!!!

Everyone is just really over doing it. I am sick of hearing about this, just like I am sick of hearing about Octomom.

If Swine Flu were killing people off in the thousands, then I may be concerned. Until then, I could give a crap less.

I do think that it's scary bec there is no vaccine for it yet though. This kind of flu is not treatable...the media loves drama we all know....it translates into ratings and more money for them...as far as the teams not shaking hands after a game I agree that is ridiculous considering that they all touched the ball Just wash your hands immediately afterwards like with anything else!!!
