This is probably a stupid question...
...but what is meant by a flush album? My photographer offers this, as well as reversible, and I was wondering what the difference is. Thanks! : )

Flush is when the picture goes all the way to the edges. There is no border around it. It`s just a matter of preference. Your album will appear smaller if it`s flush because if it`s an 8X10 picture, your album will be 8X10 or maybe slightly larger with the cover. If you get a reversible album you have the border around the picture and an 8X10 album will be at least 10X10.
The reversible is more expensive than the flush!!
I was told they are the same price it just depends on your taste. I still haven't made up my mind.
That is great that yours charges the same--we negotiated that in with our contract way back when and when we went to our album designing appointment the woman told us that we never should have gotten as much as we should have for the price we paid and one of the biggest stipulations was the reversible album!!!
but like you said it is a matter of taste--Laura
I haven't really decided which one I was going to get - I like the flush b/c I felt the other kind looked like slip in pictures to me (but can someone really tell me the difference) besides just that is a matter of taste - thanks. Which one should I get???
We got reversible. With the reversible, you don't have to move your album to look at portrait and landscape pictures. If you get reversible, make sure the pictures are glued into place not just slipped in and also make sure your album is bound. If it's not, the pages will fall out in a few years, as will the pictures.
I like the way the flush albums look too. It really is a matter of what you like best.
What do you mean about having to turn the book? The pictures won't all be facing the same way? I thought I had my mind made up to go with flush, but now I'm not so sure. I wanted a 10x10 flush album, but I don't want to be flipping a book that size every which way while I'm looking at my pictures.
My frined made a point to about the flush and the reversible. The reversible is with the border so your fingers are only touching the border. With the flush...the picture is the whole page, so your fingers will be all over the edginf of the photo. The photographers say that the pages are treated, but I am second guessing my choice.
Your comment about the pictures looking like they were just slipped in-- that is exactly why i dont like that look--plus I have seen books(years down the road) when the pics have started to slide-- It is a matter of taste--
we didnt run into the turning the book problem --
Laura
Before you pick anything, take a look at what your photographer has to offer. The flush album we got doesn't have slide in pictures, they're actually mounted onto the page with another 'frame' around them. I wouldn't pay a few thousand for a slide in book, that's for sure.
Look at what your photographer is offering that will help you make up your mind.
That`s what ours is too - we got the 10 x 10 reversible with the mounted photos that have about an 1/8' frame. It`s actually a slightly larger piece of material that is mounted on the page with the photo mounted on top. I can`t recall if it was a slight gold or slight silver tone.
That was one of the selling points with choosing our photographers. He had the best looking albums. Others offered the slip in which I didn`t care for or they offered the type where the entire page was the photo on a heavy cardboard-type material. I just liked the mounted look best.
Our album has 15 double sided pages and we can choose any combination or quantiy of photos per page, from a single 8x10 or two 5x7 or four smaller shots.
Now I just have to get busy and choose the photos! :-)

I think you described our album to a T-- I love the 10X10 look-- we chose the silver so that the edges of the pages are silver as well-- I feel like we have been waiting forever for ours to be done-- and it really hasnt been that long--
