seriously that is just nuts! its stuff like that, that makes me freaking happy and glad that we paid for our own wedding and no one could hang it in front of us like 'well i want it like THIS cause I'M paying!'

EXACTLY!!! i mean - i love my mom to death - she's great...but I knew sooner or later the 'well i'm paying for this' argument would come up. i feel so bad for this girl! i wonder what set it off...

That is so sad! I know moms and daughters fight a lot over wedding details (my mom and I did!), but this is downright over the top. It sounds like her mom is having some issues with control/losing her.

Ditto that!!! I was so much happier paying for our wedding ourselves without having to worry about how I'm spending other people's money. My mom helped me a lot during the planning, but I made it clear that it was OUR wedding.

That is HORRIBLE!!!!! Who treats their daughter that way? The mother is definitely crazy.
Seriously I hope she does not invite her mom to the wedding she ends up having. She shouldn't even tell her when/ where it is!
