tiffany silver heart return

Hi everyone,
Quick ?, I had bought those silver heart shaped necklace couple of months ago. I still have the receipt. I wore it several times, but it turned color. I kept it in a good place at all times. The necklace came off, and I cant find it. Will tiffanys return, or exchange it even though there is no necklace?
thanks

Re: tiffany silver heart return

Tiffany is wonderful with customer service but I am just not sure about this. Call them and ask. It cannot hurt.

Re: tiffany silver heart return

are you sure it just doesn't need polishing? Could the color change be due to tarnish?

Re: tiffany silver heart return

Probably just needs to be polished. Did you try that?

Re: tiffany silver heart return

Do you have either piece? The necklace or the heart? I doubt they'd give you anything if you had nothing but the receipt to show for it, but if you have one part of the necklace, they'll probably replace the missing part (whether it's the chain or pendant). I have one of their silver ball keychains, and I lost the ball and they replaced it free of charge, apparently that's a common problem, two women on line in front of me were also there to replace this part.

Re: tiffany silver heart return

I don't think they will return the necklace/pendant with out the actual necklace....Did you misplace it? lose it?
Unless you find it, I don't think they will do much.....

Regardless, it probably just needs a good polishing. Silver pieces, even kept in the best cloths and jewelry boxes can tarnish....

Good Luck!

Re: tiffany silver heart return

Sterling silver tarnishes when it is exposed to air...so, it is a natural process, but even just wearing your necklace will allow this to happen. You have to keep on top of the polishing...it's a pain, but that how you care for silver jewelery.

Re: tiffany silver heart return

thanks everyone, I tried to polish it, I bought silver polishing spray, but it would not come out. That's why it is bothering me. Even if it wasn't tarnished, will they replace the necklace? charge or free?
Im going to give them a call, see what they say.
thanks again

Re: tiffany silver heart return

That is so weird that you posted this. Steve bought me the heart bracelet for my birthday 2 weeks ago and after 1 wearing it was totally tarnished and looked like SH*t and you couldn't even see the engraving.

I am not verry happy with it

Re: tiffany silver heart return

I had a silver Tiffany heart necklace also that tarnished like crazy after just a few wears. The snake chain also broke, and when I took it back to have fixed, they charged me $25 to fix it (because it was 9 months old), and it broke again 2 weeks later.

I am not happy at all with Tiffany's. I don't think I'd ever buy from them again.

Re: tiffany silver heart return

here's a strange tidbit of info that i just remembered: my sister used to have this problem with her silver jewlery. It would tarnish very quickly when she wore it. Her dermatologist told her that it was something with her skin that was reacting with the metal causing it to tarnish. I think it was a vitamin deficiency. she took some kind of pills for a while and the problem went away. Is it just the Tiffany's necklace? If you wear other silver jewlery does it tarnish as well?
