To Egreen and anyone else...

To Egreen and anyone else...

How are you feeling these days? Morning sickness ok? I was wondering if you are as nervous as I am. I just can't seem to feel good about my pregnancy (I am 9 weeks along) because I am so nervous about losing it. Are these normal thoughts?

Misha, I don't know if you loss a baby before but I can recommend you to this site: www.tryingtoconceive.com it is great and has a 'pg loss' site. Good Luck.

Misha, What you are feeling is completely normal. I heard so much about miscarrying in the first trimester and the percentages, every time I went in the bathroom, I feared that I was going to see blood. It's enough to make any pregnant woman nervous. Try not to focus on those negative thoughts and steer your focus on doing what your Dr. tells you to take care of yourself during this time. That's the best thing you can do for you and the baby - not give yourself undue stress. Anything else is out of your hands. I am glad you are posting here about it though. Keep talking about it - we will not tire of listening. Sometimes fears get magnified when kept inside and when you expose them to the light of day, they aren't as strong. Also, if you have anyone who feels the need to inappropriately share their 'horror story' with you, don't be afraid to stop them, you have every right to not expose yourself to something that will make you more anxious. Stick with the people who are going to give you positive suggestions. Hang in there!! I hope you are feeling OK otherwise. (((HUGS)))

Thanks Elizabeth! It is nice that I can post my fears here. My husband thinks I'm am going crazy because normally I am so positive about things. I haven't had a loss before so my fears are probably unfounded but hearing horror story after horror story I can't help but worry. I just hope that my worries can't cause any damage! Thanks for making me feel that I am not going crazy.

Re: To Egreen and anyone else...

Your DH is in for a few more bouts of craziness as you proceed through your pregnancy. He can speak to my DH if he wants some thoughts from someone who's living through it too. (Hey, LI weddings should have a board for the hubbies of the preggies to all commiserate together LOL) Actually, it's very comical at times. Once I got so mad at him in the summer because he didn't have the AC in the car up full blast. We usually get along like 2 peas in a pod so it's comical to look at afterward, I flipped out claiming he's 'not appreciating what I'm going through' and 'isn't remembering that I'm pregnant' and he made the mistake of saying that I should remember that he's not pregnant, I think my next comment was something about how dare he say that and ask anyone who has had a pregnant wife if that's appropriate and the situation got uglier from there. We laughed about it a few hours later. I have a whole bunch of those stories...Thankfully, 99% of the time we get along and we have been growing closer and closer waiting for this baby. Now we can't believe that we are going to actually be parents soon.

Well, like your saying about worrying that the worrying is harmful, you can see how the fear feeds on itself when it's floating around between your ears so keep letting it out My SIL told me something very wise when I was first pregnant, I guess I was talking about fears just like you are. She said that 'it's the beginning of a lifetime of worrying about this person' She didn't say it depressingly just very real - I think becoming a mother, you start to really start to comprehend what mothers feel and what my SIL was saying is that your kids can be 40 years old and 6 feet tall and they'll still be your child that your nurtured when it was the size of an appleseed growing inside you. It's just some of those feelings that you have to go through to get to the next level.

The first trimester can be so rough with the tiredness, the hormone surge not yet leveled off, the morning sickness, it's bound to make you feel wacky. I think you'll find that you'll start to enjoy it more very soon.

Sorry so long...

That was great-you had me laughing hysterically! I definitely feel better now and I am going to go home and warn my DH of what's to come!
How far along are you? When are you due?
Must be so exciting. I wish you (and your family) all the best. Thanks for making me feel normal

You are feeling the same way that I am. I am constantly praying that the baby is OK. I am also constantly worrying about something going wrong. You just gotta go day by day and yes this is a lifetime of worrying we are in for.

I haven't told anyone on this board yet....but I am also expecting a baby. I know, I JUST got married 3 1/2 weeks ago, but we found out we were pregnant almost a month before the wedding. It was a surprise (and a shock), but we are excited about it! Anyway, I can completely relate to all of your feelings about being nervous and worried. I am 10 weeks today, and I have my first doctor's appt. this afternoon. I am a nervous wreck! I actually had to leave work (I teach) because I was throwing up so much (all from nerves, not morning sickness!!). I am so scared that the doctor is going to tell me that something is wrong or that I miscarried and didn't know it. Sheesh. I need to relax! I will post later tonight to let you know how it went!!!!

Congratulations! How exciting--Good luck with your doctor's appointment. It definitely helped me feel better after going the first time. I just can't stand having to wait 4 weeks in between visits. I wish I could go for weekly checkups. That would put much of my worrying at ease. Please let us know how it goes...

Before I forget to ask...when are you due? (egreen and Misha)

Ok, so I went to the doctor yesterday! It seems as though everything is fine...although I am disappointed because they would not try to listen for the heartbeat. They said it was too early. So here I am again, still a bit worried. Hee hee... :) Oh well...only 4 weeks until the next appt. I am due 4/16, which was exactly the date I'd been telling everyone! I hope you are all feeling great!

Hi Melissa,
I'm due April 25th. I haven't heard the heartbeat yet either but I got to see it. My next appt. is next Monday and I can't wait to see the changes!

Re: To Egreen and anyone else...

Awesome! You are sooo lucky to have gotten an ultrasound already. I only get one, at 20 weeks.
The only time I can get another is if (god forbid) something is wrong or if I am bleeding.

How are you feeling? I was sick with m/s for a few weeks, but I seem to be getting better! Tomorrow starts week 11, so I am almost in the 'clear' as far as morning sickness goes, as well as the risk of miscarriage. But I'm sure I'll still worry!!

Re: To Egreen and anyone else...

That's strange that you only have one sonogram. I get one every time I visit. M/S has been pretty rough, constant nausea, but fortunately not much coming up! Also have been extremely tired. I go to bed at 9 every night and that's after I've taken an hour nap after work til 7! Not too much longer though. I'm at week 10 this week so I figure at the most , 3 more weeks of this. At least it reminds me that things are still happening.
