I am not sure where anyone is looking or the price range, but the house across the street from mine just went on the market 3 weeks ago. It is in Oyster Bay in a relatively middle class area. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch. We are sorry to lose our wonderful neighbors but they plan to have more children (they already have 2) and need more bedrooms. If anyone is interested let me know and I will give you more info.

Re: To those house hunting
I'm not house hunting, but wanted to say I love the Oyster Bay area. We bought our house in East Norwich (just south of OB) two years ago and love it!! Great area..... We're looking forward to the Oyster Festival in October...

Oh, I love East Norwich ... what a great area! Sad to see all the horse farms being developed though! There used to be miles and miles and miles of trails up there. Good thing the Muttontown Preserve is still there.
It's funny how most people really don't know of this area .. I remember when I was first told about it .. I thought the person was telling me about a place in Connecticut .. and that's what people would think when I would tell them about the area!

OMG Kel, it's funny you mention that people think East Norwich is in CT!! Before we moved to EN, we both lived on the south shore (I in Rockville Centre and he in Long Beach). When we started looking and then finally bought our house, it was funny how all our relatives who are born and bred in Nassau County thought we were moving to CT (my brother lives there, so I guess it seemed logical to them!).
Both of us now use this phrase when people ask us where we live:
'We live in a small town called East Norwich - it's just south of Oyster Bay and north of Syosset.'
That seems to get people the idea. And we do love the open space aspect of it. Such a different area then were we used to live!! Now if only I had a horse!!

Wendy - would you happen to know how much they're asking?
Thanks

Re: To those house hunting
I think they are asking $429,000. I believe that they have found a new house so I am sure that they are flexible. The house also has a back deck with a hot tub a one car garage, a family room, and an office. The living room has a fireplace, and there is a fairly large eat in kitchen. No dining room though. If you are interested I will give you the name and number of the real estate agent they have it listed with.

Re: To those house hunting
It's out of my price range too! My husband and I jokingly talked about putting a for sale sign on our house just to see what we could get. We surely couldn't buy our own house if we didn't already own it. Sorry ladies, wish it was a little less expensive.
