today is 6 months....

John just texted me
'happy sixth month anniversary my love'

haha... love the wording... sixth month! haha! not six month!! too cute!!

I had no idea until I got his text!!

On a side note... I think I'm having an allergic reaction. the inside of my bottom lip is all swollen. Last time I had an allergic reaction it manifested in my eyelids and was due to Benzoyl Peroxide. IDK what this one could be from??

Take some benedryl (anti-histamine) if you think you're having an allergic reaction. It'll make you sleepy but it should calm the reaction fast. My lips swell when I have an allergic reaction and my dr says to take benedryl. It works, I promise.

I keep benedryl in my house too... because I was having problems with an allergic reaction last year on my eyelids. But benedryl knocks me out!! like out cold sleeping!! so i'm trying to hold off on taking it... if it gets worse I'll def pop one... but i dont wanna be knocked out all day and sleep the day away.

it could be anything.... i learned that from my eyelid saga in 09. doesnt' even have to be something new. i could have developed a new allergy to something that I've been using for years.

proactiv made me allergic to the BP. I used it for years and was fine... then one day... my body was like ENOUGH! Now you are allergic!!! haha!

Happy sixth month!! I guess that means that mine is next week - see Kerri I still use you as my official timekeeper - even AFTER the wedding!

Sorry about your lip. That happened to me the other day, I broke out in hives on my wrists - I didn't use any new products or eat anything different - never found out what it is.

haha!! too funny!! I'll be your little timekeeper!! that's fine with me!!!!

yea... a lot of allergic reactions just come and go. the eyelid thing last year would happen randomly. the first time it was mild and lasted a day. then a month later it happened again and was a little worse. then it was gone for about 6 weeks or so and would come back. then it just started getting really bad... where it would last for a week or so... and was getting more and more itchy and swollen each time. But I would have breaks where it didn't happen. I was just developing the allergy.

so with your wrist... it could be something that you've been using for a long time and your body is just starting to have enough. I couldn't figure out the eyelid thing because I kept trying to think of NEW stuff... and never for a second thought it could be something I've been using all along and was fine with. And I kept thinking it must be something I'm putting directly on my eyelids like eyeshadow or eyeliner, etc.

this lip thing is not severe right now by any means. but if I am developing another allergy to something.. I'm sure it will come back at some point. honestly... id rather my lip swollen then my eyelids!!! ha! I actually feel grateful it's not my eyelids!!!

If your wrist thing comes back (or even if it doesn't).... you can go to a doctor or even a dermatologist... they can do what's called a strip test on you to determine what you could be allergic to. my derm had like 98 things he tests for. they put this thing on your back.. it covers like your whole back and you have to keep it on for like 2 days. then you go in and they look at it. It's REALLY uncomfortable and it's itchy too (esp when you are allergic to some of the little squares on your back like I was - BP and rubber were my allergies)... but it's worth it to find out what's causing the reaction so you can stop using that product.

I actually made an appt with the allergist for next week! I used to go all the time when I was little since I have bad hayfever and pollen allergies. The nurse when I called said it could be that my wrist just somehow had a lot of pollen on it (she said it's been a brutal pollen season) and that it causes itchiness.

The same thing happened to me last spring when I would go for a walk - anywhere that wasn't covered would break out in hives (my hands, ankles, etc.).

I HATE allergies! and of course now that I'm talking about hives, I'm starting to itch like crazy!
