hmmm what about making veggies for him first. If he is a meat and potatoes type guy the tofu might be too much of a change for him and then wont be open to it later lol. I think incorporating more veggies might be an easy way to start him off, then later on throw in the tofu lol.

I LOVE vegetables, i eat organic stuff, i am not picky but tofu i still havent tried

Maybe making him sauteed spinach with just a little bit of olive oil and garlic.

Asparagus with hollandaise sauce maybe

or maybe making him meat but with peas, cooked carrots and roasted potatoes

Does he like Indian food or Chinese? Maybe in a recipe like that.

Anyway, if you make tofu make sure to squeeze it (wrap a hunk in paper towels, between two plates and put a weight on the top like a can of food) for at least half an hour. Tofu is much better that way.

you can put it in a stir fry. I just made one this weekend and I actually liked the tofu better than the chicken that was in it. I don't have the recipe, I kind of just winged it but look up any stir fry recipe and just add tofu to it. I like the extra firm tofu.

I make this lasagna roll recipe that uses tofu instead of ricotta - it is soooo good and you don't even know that it's tofu ... it doesn't really have a taste on its own - it takes on the taste of whatever seasonings you use on it - so it tastes like cheese in this recipe I think. DH had no idea it was tofu. I just bought some the other day to make it this week.

oh no dont make the spinach alone, i never do it like that. I do the sauteed spinach as a side dish, usually wit steak it goes well.

Re: tofu recipe?

Omg I have a really good one!
I saute broccoli rabe with a little olive oil and garlic, add the tofu (make sure its the firm kind otherwise it starts to fall apart) cut into cubes and cook for a little just until broccoli Rabe is done. Than I had some cut up sundried tomato and (sometimes a little fennel is nice too but that's up to you) drizzle with some olive oil a little salt & pepper & chile pepper is great on it too and it's done! I actually like to eat this cold (like a pasta salad type dish) I gave it too DH and he loved it! He thought the tofu was mozzarella, than I told him no its tofu, I was waiting for him to make a face - (I thought he'd hate the though of it) but he said it was really good! In the summer I bring it to the beach as a cold salad. Simple and easy to make

if he likes meat a lot, then maybe try cooking wheat gluten (seitan) for him first. it has a more meat-like texture than tofu and is delicious!

dh and i usually just make up our recipes as we go (we're both vegetarians) but one that we really like a salt and pepper tofu.

recipe

you generally serve it over rice and you can add some veggies. (rough chopped garlic and onions are always good. other veggies we usually serve on the side.)
