A great cd

A lovely bunch of flowers

A pants that fit loose in the waist

Helping a friend

The feeling of fulfilment I get after volunteering

No ringing phone...

Me reading my novel to my hubby as he drives

Him reading the paper to me as I drive

A moving service at church

Just being in each other's company in silence.

Natasha, I love the lying on hubby's chest too

(I'm humming the song from Sound of Music while I type this .. raindrops on roses, and bright colored mittens -- or whatever they are -- )

These are a few of my favorite things....

1. Not having to get out of bed on a dark, rainy day (unlike today )
2. Snuggling w/my hubby
3. Hubby pulling me close as he's sleeping and cuddling w/me
4. Playing with my niece and nephew (I love when they get on the phone with me and say 'Aunt Dabbie' -- not Debbie!!!)
5. The smell of a baby
6. Having a free weekend when I can do absolutely nothing (yeah, like that EVER happens!)
7. Untouched snow
8. Thunderstorms -- especially when it's the middle of the day and it gets all dark -- love staying under the covers, reading or watching a movie!
9. Meeting my friends for the once-every-blue-moon dinner (gets harder & harder w/everyone's busy schedules )
10. When my hubby takes my hand as he's driving and kisses it!!

There are plenty more but I'm brain dead at the moment and can't think!

Oh Michelle, I totally agree -- freshly washed clothes w/Mountain Fresh Downey is the BEST smell!!!!

For you, Debbie... Why? Just 'cause you now have ME singing this to myself too!

Raindrops on roses,
And whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles,
And warm woollen mittens,
Brown paper packages,
Tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Cream colored ponies,
An' crisp apple strudels,
Doorbells an' sleigh bells,
An' schnitzel with noodles,
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Girls in white dresses,
With blue satin sashes,
Snow flakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters,
That melt into springs,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feelin' sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad . . .

Roses....hmmm kittens...
Kettles.......mittens....
La dee da, la dee da,
La dee da, da,
These are a few of my favorite things . . .

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feelin' sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And little by little my heavy heart sings . . .

And then I don't feel so bad . . .

You ladies are just too much I am crying my eyes out, the guy that sits in front of me is used to my bad singing, so he did not even move when I started singing it

I have never been Karioking, unless you count what I do in the office every day along with the radio

I love to sing, on and off key

Re: TOPIC OF THE DAY FOR 10/16/2002

My friend used to call me the 'singing secretary' because I'm always singing away to the radio.

Real quick funny story before I leave: about 2 years ago (right before we got engaged and around my b'day), we went out to a bar with our friends and his cousin and his date. Turns out it was karioke night. Well, I grab the big looseleaf filled w/songs and start leafing through figuring out what I want to sing. JOE WAS MORTIFIED and took the book away from me and said I was being rude because I wasn't paying attention to everyone!!! He never saw me like that before and when I got up and started singing away with his cousin (who's in Stuttering John's band), he was totally flabbergasted!!!! My best friend told him 'oh that's Deb, always has been and always will' -- he thought I was drunk -- I wasn't even half-way there yet. I was drunk when I got up and started singing 'From This Moment' to him -- HELLO, I couldn't hit those notes if you paid me!!!! But the best part was my friend asked me if I was practicing in the bathroom before I sang -- YES I WAS -- what a nerd!!! People would be asking me to join them and then I would get up and sing w/people who were having trouble, grab the mike from them and take over!! I was famous that night, I tell ya!!! It was hysterical and poor Joe was floored by me that night!!!!!

Ok -- being that we're in the Sound of Music theme -- I'm now singing

So Long Farewell
Aveidsein (no clue how to spell that)
Good Night.........
