TY notes for Cash gifts -wording?

How did you/are you wording your TY notes to people who gave you cash/checks? DH and I aren't saving for a house or anything, though we did move to a new apartment. I feel like we should mention how we did or are going to spend it, right? Also, did you just say 'thanks for your generous check' or did you state the amount they gave you too? Thanks!!

i just wrote 'thank you for the generous gift' and concentrated more on thanking them for being there.

Oh good - I thought 'Thank you for the generous gift. We enjoy the quarter of our couch that you paid for every single day.' might sound a little awkward

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Jennieeeeeeeeee!

I wrote 'thank you for your very generous gift, it's going in our 'dream house' fund' and 'thank you for your generous gift, we look forward to using it toward our 'dream home' and 'thank you for your generous gift, we'll use it toward one of our many 'dream' items'. Yeah, I did about 35 times and in some cases I had to write it in Spanish! Then I also concentrated on how their presence at our wedding ceremony, reception or both (yeah, I know who went to what!) made our day even better.

How are you sweetie! I've missed you...we need to GTG, I'm moving soon!
