Ugh, I'm getting huge

Ugh, I'm getting huge

For some crazy reason I thought that I would be losing weight after the wedding because I'd be cooking all the meals and we wouldn't be going out as much.

This is very much not the case. I must have gained 15lbs in under 3 months. All of my clothes are tight

Every day I say 'Ok this is the day I'm going to get back on track and get this weight off'. Every day I have some excuse...party....birthday at work....just cuz I feel like it, etc.

I lost 96 lbs on WW a few years ago and I've gained back 60. Sigh. Thanks for letting me vent.

ps-Sorry I've been ***...I've been busy eating.

Aww you can do it hun!! I find once you makie nutrition and fitness part of your lfiestyle its not easy to go back! Just make small changes at first and set realistic goals about nutrition and exercise and you can do it! I am really into fitness/nutrition so if I cna help, please let me know!!

I totally feel your pain!!! I have not worked since the wedding and thats 4 months!!! I need to get my butt in the gym ASAP and the food issue kills me...to be able to eat normally I need to go to the gym...I dont really like to deprive myself cause then I binge.

I think I gained 20 lbs since the wedding I really get depressed about my weight which just gets me in this cycle

I really do not enjoyworking out and I find excuses not to do it....after the wedding the excuse was that I get out of work around 3pm then to go to the gym which is 15 min away from work I would get out of the gym at 4:30 and I would hiy major traffic going home...that was the excuse...now I canceled that membership cause it was expensive and I found one that is 15 away from home so lets see if thats better.

I just cant get motivated..you would think my clothes not fitting would be but that hasnt happened yet

Totally feel your pain!

Maybe we can all help eachother out? Maybe a daily thread or something? Is that lame?

Re: Ugh, I'm getting huge

I know what you mean... I've gained about 8 lbs since the wedding and I was still 15 lbs over my goal weight when we got married... I feel like I'm never going to get there and I can't understand it. And I work out every single week day for an hour!! What's going to happen when I get a job and stop working out every day? I just don't know why I'm getting so fat again.

I'm still 35 lbs lighter than my heaviest, but I'm so unhappy about gaining weight. It's gotta be all my cooking... but I really do try to keep portions under control. So I just don't know.

Sigh.

If anyone figures out something other than WW that works, let me know. Wii fit is fun but it isn't gonna get me into that size 10 I've dreamed of.

Thanks so much for the post. I feel like if you're doing the right things (which you are) you're going to see the results soon. You just have to!

Sad thing is I was in a size 10..heading towards that 8. And then it was all down hill. I'd be happy in a 12 at this point bc now my 16's are tight

I don't know if I'll ever see results... I've been doing the same thing (working out five days a week) for almost 5 months now and I'm still going nowhere but up.

I've never been a size 8 or 10 in my life. I think I skipped right from a junior's 9 to women's 14... at my heaviest I was an 18 but refused to buy clothes that size so I wore 16s and looked super dumpy. I've been a solid 12 for a while now. I'm happy to be able to shop in regular stores but I feel like my mid-section is just getting so thick. It's different weight gain than I ever experienced before! It's like I hit 30 and my body totally changed or something.

I look at my wedding photos and I feel so beautiful there... I hate this thickness. I feel embarrassed when DH puts his arms around me. Even though he met me at my lifetime heaviest.

Maybe it's in my head, but I know what you're feeling. I try not to let it get me down. I hope we all find solutions that make us happy.

Re: Ugh, I'm getting huge

Don't stress about the working out if you are really unable to. I am in no way saying that you shouldnt work out but 90% of this is nutrition. Are you eating 5-6 meals a day? Are you eating tons of high fat, high carb things/ Are your carbs 'good carbs?' Make sure each meal has some sort of protein (lean!) to go with it. Drink a ton of water! Tons of veggies too! Let me know if i can help in anyway.

Re: Ugh, I'm getting huge

I've gained 6 pounds since the wedding. That doesn't sound like a lot, but for me it is.

The reason why I've gained? Not planning my meals ahead.

Like Lauren said, it's about WHAT you eat and planning out your meals.

No matter how much you've gained, once you get back on track yu can lose it again.

I think maintenance is always the hardest part. I think its easy to lose, EASIER to gain, but the most challenging is staying level.

My advice-keep only HEALTHY food in your house! Throw out the junk. Its so much easier to make good food choices when there's nothing but healthy stuff around.

Good luck!
