Ugh soo annoying

so today is pay day, and also time when most of my personal bills are do, so im paying all my bills watching my money go bye bye..

i am on the geico website, and paying my car-insurance bill, when i notice on top of the page, they have my old apt address...so i go to change it to my house, and they gave me a new quote for the insurance, which went up over $100...what gives?!?! i dont get it! so i kept it my apt address!

anybody know why it would go up?! my commute is actually shorter now so what gives?

I THINK (but not 100% sure) that it depends on the crime and accident rates in your area. We actually had the opposite thing happen, ours went down by a lot when we moved. I didn't want to call and ask about it though bc I was afraid they'd take it back!

My brother is an insurance agent and quotes depend on ur neighborhood. Also, you should def call them and let them know you are interested in a homeowners quote, if its cheaper to have the car and home through Geico you can switch insurance companies.

Allstate offers the same homeowner/Car discount, if your interested I can give you my brother's number at Allstate and he can run a quote for you.

And you do get a discount for having more than one car on a policy if you are married!

Re: Ugh soo annoying

When you call - tell them you got married - my rate (I had progressive when we first got married) went down by something like $30 every 6 months.

I now have Allstate for our car insurance and our homeowners is with TSC Direct. We still get a 'homeowner's discount' with Allstate - I think it's like $15 every 6 months or so.
