UGH.annoying question about BC...

ok so, we really dont have to money to pick up my BC this week as DH & I are more than stuck in a rut with our finances. If i miss like a week or more with my pill, is it gonna majorly screw up my period if i start it then??? I'm thinking we should just be careful and i shouldn't start a new pill pack untill my NEXT period. any advice???? getting the pills is not an option.. grrrrrr

<~ I HATE HORMONES lol. why do they have to be so complicated????

Yopu can start it but yea..either way ue essentially starting from scratch. I would go to ym GYN honestly. Sometimes they have samples they can give you if you''re really strapped and dont want to afford messing with your schedule. And places like Planned Parenthood will almost always give it to you pratcially for free if not free-dont be embrassed. I have had to do it. Thats what they are there for-; to avoid accidents.

i know they can provide samples...but i'm gonna have to give them a call because I'm on Yasmin. 95% of the time, they usually only have samples of generic brands, or ortho. and mixing will mess things up even more. hmm..i'm gonna have to give a call.

Call your GYN and call Planned Parenthood-usually they have them all. I have gotten the morning after pill from them a few times. i tried Yasmin-didnt work for me. Im on the ring-the NuvaRing. Works great for me cause Im a forgetful one 3 weeks in then ya yank it out and voila, period comes that week. I used to be on Ortho Evra patch -shudders- Thank God i got off it quick cause that sucker causes blod clots Ive heard but also made me NUTS. Thinks my head spinning around as I spit pea soup at people...WAYYY too many hormones.

Pills in general give me yeast infections. no Clue why and probably TMI but Ive been on every pill and after a few months, yeast infection before EVERY period.

The Pill can do this to you?? I thought that I was going crazy i had no idea what was wrong with me.....I will have to mention this to my GYN.

oh my lord! i am so sorry about all the issues u had with BC's...but unfortunately that's the story for most Luckily the only side effect i've had is my skin - i get little breakouts on my cheeks..which is annoying since i've always had perfect crystal clear skin...but hey - if i didn't gain weight, and didn't go nuts, i can deal with putting on a little extra makeup lol. ANYWAYS, i'm gonna try to call PP and see what they say. Hopefully they have some samples that i can snag. but we'll see...if they're not as nice as i want them to be, they may not give me enough to hold me over at no charge..and then it'll only pro-long the inevitable

::FINGERS CROSSED!::

Yep happened to me with EVERY pill..I tried all of them honestly and every one of them gave me a yeat infection. The patch didnt but it turned me into medusa. The ring doesnt at all. Ask your GYN to let you try that-its really low hormone just like the pills (that was important to me) and I can attest to none of the crazy mood swings I got from the pill. Its easy too. I love it-this was my last resort so Im glad it works out for me.

what about just buying the pills on your credit card and worrying about the charge next month when it comes on your statement?

we cut up our credit cards about a month or two ago. i have yet to get a new one! so yea.no real options here really except the hopes of PP, or starting from scratch.

oh no, what about just borrowing the money from a family member or friend and you'll pay them back when you get a chance?

Does your health insurance cover it? i would definitely call now and see maybe if they can get the samples for you...my OB/GYN does that for me when I am strapped (but I am on NuvaRing, and your post reminded me that i need a new script! )..I know that a lot of ladies mentioned PP and that is a great idea as well. Definitely do not mess around with BC cause that is not good as well!!! You are not protected if you are not on it consistently! Good luck sweetie!

You could buy them in Canada - just search on google for Canadian pharmacies. It is LOT cheaper there!

Or, just be old fashioned and use condoms.
