UGHHHHH what is with georgia and non-drinkers!

Okay, so this is a vent and a cry for help, lol. I've been lucky enough to know a few ladies from a military bride site that are down here in GA. I met them and get along with them, so I invited them and their husbands to our house tomorrow for Sangria and some munchies. Now, 2 of the girls will be coming without their DH's because they are in the field this week. The other girl is bringing her DH to keep mine company...great, no problem.
So, today I ask her : what type of beer does your DH drink? I'll pick it up so we have some in the house. She says her DH doesnt drink. Now, thats the 4th person down here that we;ve met thast doesnt drink! Maybe I'm a raging alcoholic but WHAT THE F U C K???? Why cant we meet a few people to get together and drink with? Its like every person we meet is like 'oh no....we dont do THAT' So poor DH has no drinking buddies and I have an entire pitcher of Sangria to drink by myself

So now tomorrow we have 3 girls and a guy coming over who only one of which actually drinks and I have no idea how to entertain non-drinking people I mean, I know this sounds weird, but all of our friends from home....thats what we do. We host parties and drink and relax. DH and I have always been big partiers, so I dont really know any other way Someone please tell me im not crazy...

Ha, all of the new people I;ve met in Pittsburgh drink, I would be highly confused as to what to do otherwise.

Are they older? I'm 25, but I feel like the farther I get from college, the less drinking that goes on.

I think its a southern thing. No drinking, dancing etc.

Well, most of them are our age, but they're already trying to get pregnant and start a family. DH and I just arent at that point in our lives yet. We'll be partying for the next 4 years

When we were in SC EVERYONE was a drinker

Not Crazy!!! Whenever I have people over I always have a couple of bottles of soda, but the majority of our drinks are alcoholic. Hell, we haven't even given up our college beer pong table yet with the hope that one day someone will want to play us!

thats too funny. DH still hasnt gotten rid of our beer funnel from high school. He cant part with it

Cool so when you come back to LI, you bring your funnel and we'll give all those non-drinkers a reason to drink!

I'd end up cooking a feast.. if you aint drinkin, u certainly are doing SOMETHING

you guys make it sound like non-drinkers can't have fun or aren't fun...haha .Dh is a non drinker and he's lots of fun and easily entertained...he doesn't mind people around him having a few....but he no longer drinks and i am proud of him for it..i still have my wine & drinks with dinner...please cut the non drinkers some slack...especialy if you don't know the history or reason behind it...it may not be a choice but a necessity that they don't drink....ok my after school special speach is now over!

maybe their DH's are in the program?

it's a big-time stereotype that some military men are big on the drinking... could that be?

i mean, there are a few men in my fam who have served -- and, in that mix, we have a few alcoholics so i wonder if that could be it.

either way -- that stinks for you!!

Jeez.. You may as well whip out the rosary beads too!!!!
