Unbelievable News Story!

Twins who were separated at birth and married each other without realising they were brother and sister was revealed today.

How do you feel about this?

What would you do?

Would you stay married and have kids? Stay married and not have kids? Divorce?

I heard about this! it's such a shame. those poor people. I have no clue what I would feel like in their shoes.

OUCH! Thats such a hard sitiuation because its going to be a pyschological issue.

Technically they could just both have their tubes tied and stay together, (maybe adopt?) because as long as they aren't mixing the gene pool (because its scientifically proven to casue more issues for offspring with such closse genetic code) they are just two people. They were raised with different lives, diff values, etc. They don't kNOW one another as family.

HOWEVER... its goign to be sucha train wreck on them emotionally. I mean they love one another but society is going to come crashing on them with guilt saying 'YOU'RE RELATED!!!!!!' And they are. And if they have shared family out there now, its going to cause even larger issues because its not like nobody will not know.

I don't know what I would do. I mean its a nature vs nurture thing in a way. naturally, they are biologically connected but through nurturing, they are different people who dont look at one another as siblings. I feel the same way about distant cousins-I may not wwant to date them but I dont think of them 'as family' because we didnt grow up together, no shared experiences. We are family in name and blood alone, not bonds of emotion....

But I wouldn't have biological kids, and I probably would insist we move somewhere where no one really knows abotu 'us' and where we wouldn't be harrassed by people who couldn't have compassion for the fawked up situation it was. I feel that they will probably be persecuted for staying together if they do. Just very very sad.

I agree. This is a very confusing situation and the only thing I am sure of is that I would not have children with him. I feel so bad for them though - this must be torture

This really is a sad situation, I can not even begin to imagine how I would handle this...

As far as staying married...That Situation is incest, and incest is illegal, so I don't think there is much choice for them...
