Can anyone help with a fun/unique baby shower gift? I'm so sick of buying straight from registries!

a gift basket for things for the mom might be nice. Maybe some lotion, eye mask, face mask etc. things to help her relax!
Also, a gift certificate for a prenatal massage would be nice!

A hamper, and inside, put a clothesline filled with different outfits - maybe different ones for each holiday / season since you can kind of figure out what size the baby will be for each. Don't know why but I always think it's cute!

THAT IS AWESOME!
We don't know if it's a boy or girl yet. . .and about 90% of her registry has been purchased (even if I wanted to gift from the registry, what's left is so impersonal)
I also like the idea of the prenatal massage. . . you ladies are the best! Keep the ideas coming!

For the pre-natal massage, I think it depends how far along she'll be when the shower is held. The later into the pregnancy, and she may not be able to actually use it during the pregnancy.
My cousin had a baby a few weeks ago, and this was part of my gift. Its a onesie bouquet, Colette sent me the idea ... it was something a girl on LIF had made. So I copied her idea. It has outfits, onesies, socks, bibs, pants, etc. for all sizes up to 1 year. It was to buy all that stuff though!

Oh yeah I never recieved it as a gift but I always wished I did, a gift certificate to get the babys pics done at sears or somewhere

I always like to get something off the registry AND then a little something else. DH has to always throw in yankees stuff, like the little outfits with the blanket and hat that are all yankees.
Just be careful what you do get that is NOT on the registry. I once almost did this and dh kept telling me not to and to stick to the registry. I said well its not on their registry but who wouldn't love to get this. Well thank god bc he called the husband while we were in the store and they already had it. Dh said thats why you have to be careful, the reason they might not have something on a registry is bc they might have it already. I didnt know he was so good at this
nowadays, most baby registries i see do have the photo session, so you can do that if you want if nobody else did this or if its not on there.

I always get the babytub from the registry or a pretty wicker laundry basket and fill it with some essentials (diapers, wipes, lotion, bottles, bibs, washcloths, etc) and then a few little toys, an outfit and a few books. Most of the little items are inexpensive and everyone has always really appreciated it and it looks soo pretty.. You can just wrap in clear cello paper or one of those clear cello bags.

First choice items-pacifier therm., baby toothbrush, bath tub therm...fun items like that and a bottle rack. These are some of the items I got my sister. Also, like the other girl said-diaper cake is soo cute. I also think the registry is important, it is to there taste and wishes. Diapers and formula (that can be tricky though) are always needed so a gift card would do so they can get their brand. Also, cut lotssssssssss of coupons for them to have, just make sure it is still good after the shower. You can make a fun book out of it too if you want toget creative.

Last baby shower I went to we filled the hamper with clothes on a clothesline, tub with accessories, and tons of things from the registry, and a babyGap giftcard-it was a group gift though so we were able to get a lot.
I have also gone to pampers.com and done the pampers for one month or + and added that to a basket filled with everything you need to diaper changing and more and I added a cute diaper cake.
