unique ideas for bridal shower

im maid of honor at my friends wedding. Im throwing a shower for her. What were some unique ideas that were at you shower??
im trying to get some ideas for themes, presents favors etc...

My MOH is almost as crazy as me but here were some nice touches she did for me:

- Made the silk organza tablecloth overlays to match the red theme
- Covered a cardboard wishing well in hundreds of red and pink buttons to go with the red thing
- Made me a red satin chair cover with 'S' on it
- Got me a feather boa for fun
- Had beautiful rose centerpieces for cheap by getting the flowers at a flower market
- Made the invitations to go with the red/love theme

In turn I have a book full of ideas for her shower when the time comes. What sort of shower are you planning?

one of my BM's bought a pizza paddle (its made of wood) and when everyone arrived had them sign it with colorful markers. Then she varnished it for me so it will stay nice! It was a great keepsake!!

They also sent out recipe cards with the invitations and asked that everyone fill out the card and bring it the day of the shower, I have a WHOLE box of recipes!! I loved that!!

-My girls had everyone sign an apron, which was really cute since I love to cook.
-All the flowers on my tables were flowers that were going to be in my boo-k.
-My BMs had mini-cakes has favors since I really wanted them for the wedding but they were too expensive
-My wishing well was a really nice basket with a wooden top (after seeing the photos of Stef's my sister begged my best friend's husband to help her make my top because she didn't know that she needed one)
-They had butterfly decorations since I love butterflies and they remind me of my grandma
-played Bridal SHower Bingo, which I really love!

I must say that I think the shower my MOH put together for me had some uniqueness

We really like to drink wine and instead of a wishing well she had everyone bring a bottle of wine, and she prepared tags to attach to each bottle, and then she sealed the tags so we would have to wait till we open the bottle to see who its from

the favor was a scented candle

the ultimate theme was wine and candles - she put a poem in the invitation (which was handmade) which I can send you if you like

Oh and she did 'juicy tidbits' instead of bingo - everyone was asked to share a juicy tidbit with one of the BM and she wrote tem all down. As I was opening gifts they were read out and I had to guess who said what. The tidbits were about me and also FH - it worked really well because the shower was only 25 people who I knew really well, and aside from being embarrassed I was able to figure each one out.

a lunchon is great! You can have like a tea party. The favors can be beautiful tea cups (you can get them at the dollor store) and fill them with tea bags, potporri, or make a candle in it!

Since the BM dresses are spring like you can go with a garden theme. The centerpieces could be individual pots with beautiful flowers in them!!

Went to a shower this wkd. Things I liked

Bridal Party wore outfits in the wedding colors

The favors were all wrapped in little gift boxes that looked like mini presents

They made a broom with her wedding colors and everyone was given a card to fill out. The card contained name, how you met bride and advice for bride. The cards were then attached to the broom and given to the bride.

We played bridal jeopardy. It was loads of fun.


What they did at my shower that I loved.

They did a play on the different stages of marriage and how I would look. It was funny. I started out looking sexy and wearing thongs and ended up in a old long robe and bloomers.


They had a pamper booth. That was very nice.

I also really liked one of the favors they made. They bottled bath salts. I would have to take a pic for you to see how they did it. That was very nice.

The pamper booth they offered different massage techniques. They had a bunch of different products. People chose mostly hand, back and head They had a really cool device for the head. You just sat down and had them pamper you. Did not have to lift a finger. Theny even had slippers for me.

Everyone really enjoyed it. My mom swears by the stuff they used on her hands. She says her hands have never been softer. I believe they got the hand stuff from the body shop.

My BMs sent our recipe cards along with the invites to my shower so everyone contributed their favorite recipes to me - I loved that

Handmade cookies as favors - nice personal touch

The theme was a tea party - so the food and drinks were all a little unique rather than the usual buffet.

My shower had a fall theme, all orange and green w/ini pumpkins/gourds as centerpieces.

My MOH did a polaroid keepsake album for me on the spot, which everyone signed and I took home w/ me that night, which was awesome!

My mom gave me madame alexander dolls to represent each member of the wedding party which we set up on the mantle of the fireplace in the room at milleridge inn where the shower was.

As I opened gifts a timer was set so whomever's gift I was opening when it went off, got a prize!
