Unique name change question.

OK... you all know I got married out of the country.

For this reason, I did not have to get a NYS marriage license since we were not married in New York State. I will soon have my marriage certificate from Italy (I had a civil ceremony, which is legally recognized all over the world).

So... my question is: am I going to have problems changing to DH's name? Would I just use the same procedure as everyone else?

The reason I ask, is from name-changing posts on here it seems like your desired new name goes on the marriage license (which I don't have).

Does this make any sense LOL

Re: Unique name change question.

Our marriage license from vegas has my maiden name on it. I don't think you'll have any problems changing your name. I have been doing this all week without much difficulty.

This is pure speculation, buy your certificate from Italy might be enough. even if that just has your maiden name, they'll see your husband's name & that you are not pulling it out of a hat.
