UPDATE! Need all the good vibes you ladies can send
UPDATE: Thank you to each and every one of you! There's something to be said about the way the ladies on this board come together when someone needs it.
The surgeon concurs and says my problem will not heal on its own. I have Spondylolisthesis, which means a vertebrae is fractured and has slipped forward, pinching my sciatic nerve. It's because the discs between my vertebrae have deteriorated. He wants to continue my spinal fusion down the rest of my spine and fuse my spine to my pelvis, It's not life or death, but more of a quality of life decision. I have to decide if I can live with the pain. Honestly, I can't. So I need to mentally prepare for this. It's an 8 hour surgery and the recovery time is 3-6 months, all made harder by my weight.
I'm going to try to start working out as much as I can to lose a little weight and build up my strength so I can help the recovery process along. And I definitely want to go away with DH for our anniversary before I do this. I don't know if I'll make it to then, but I'm going to try. I could use the time to prepare for this.
Thank you again to all of you!

So, most of you know the deal with my back and all of the problems I've been having. Well, tomorrow I go back to the surgeon who did my first surgery to see if he agrees with the other surgeon that I need surgery. I'm so nervous. Physical therapy has helped me gain some movement. I can put my own socks and shoes on now. But the pain hasn't gotten any better over the last 5 or so weeks. So we'll see what he says.
I found a little hope today when I went on their website to download the forms I need to fill out. They now offer a minimally invasive procedure to correct scoliosis and the deterioration. Instead of cutting me open and putting more rods in, they make a series of 1cm incisions and go in with an endoscope and work that way. They also have a minimally invasive procedure for fractures in the vertabrae. So hopefully these two procedures are a possibility if I still need to have surgery.
I need lots of good vibes that all goes well tomorrow! TIA!
