update on DH's uncle Louie
just wanted to let you guys know after all the prayers I asked for back in February for DH's Uncle Louie, this week he was moved to St. Charles Rehabilitation center (I think its in Port Jeff?).
He was at North Shore hospital since Valentines day through this week!!!! over 2 months! the bleeding on his brain was on & off and he probably had 5 surgeries or more in the time he was there.
at this point, I'm just happy to say he's been strong enough to continue his fight to regain all his brain function. In mid March he had a very bad hemorrhage again (which I don't think I told you guys about, didn't want to keep posting bad news!!) and he had not spoken since. Just today he said Aunt Joyce's name for the first time! And he was able to have some honey, it's the first thing he 'ate' on his own (he's been on a feeding tube this whole time).
I just had to say thank you to all of you for your prayers in the past........I believe in the power of prayer, and its definitely prayers that have gotten him this far that he's finally out of the hospital and in rehab, hopefully on the road to a 100% recovery. Like Aunt Joyce has been saying, she'll take whatever baby steps, she's just happy for progress!
