UPDATE: Wedclean? Heavy beading/embroidery on delicate fabric
Hi, I actually already ordered it and got the package from Wedclean....but now I'm having second thoughts about sending it off. My dress has a silk organza overlay, and the organza is hand embroidered (the entire dress from top to bottom) with a lot of beading. It's very fragile and I'm so scared they might mess it up - esp since I'm going to have to wear it again later this year for another reception we're having overseas. Has anyone had a delicate dress like mine and had it cleaned by Wedclean? I read negative comments about their beading work so I'm even more worried now... Thank you!

I didnt have any organza on my gown but I had a very intericate beading and embroidery work on the bodice. They cleaned it nicely.
I would say since they ONLY do wedding gowns, they probably have more experience in cleaning delicate gowns than most places ... but its a risk no matter what.

My dress has embriodery, beading and a delicate mesh on the bodice and is made out of silk satin. I was also concerned at first as you are, however they did a fabulous job.

My gown had organza overlay with lots of beading and embroidery on the top part of the dress and it was fine when when I got it back from Wedclean. If you have concerns maybe you should call them to discuss it and see how comfortable you are after having talked to them.

don't worry about the beading issues. They don't even offer that option anymore. It was an additional charge service to replace beads that had fallen off. But, they're not offereing that anymore because they really didn't know what to replace since they hadn't seen the gowns in their 'original' form.
They did a GREAT job with cleaning my gown! I had asphalt on the bottom of it, from taking pics in the street. You'd never know it now!

I insured it for 2/3 what I paid for it. I figured if it did get lost, I would be a lot less upset about it if I was getting a fat check to compensate me. Obviously it wasnt lost so that money was a bit wasted but it gave me piece of mind.

Thank you so much, everyone! I feel better now. I think I will send it tomorrow or Saturday... I'm also getting my shoes cleaned. Wish me luck!

I just wanted to tell everyone that I got my gown/shoes back from Wedclean last week. They did a great job! And the service was excellent too - they answered all my email enquiries very thoroughly and quickly. Thank you again, everyone, for your advice/opinions!
