for all those interested...(and NO, this is not a pregnancy announcement)

update on the dress situation: Against popular opinion I sent my dress to wedclean after the ball (back in March). As you know (some of you anyway) there was some damage to the beadwork on my dress after the original cleaning (at my MIL's cleaners). I then wore the dress again, and had to have it cleaned again. WedClean pretty much obliterated all the beads on the dress. But they have been wonderful and are repairing all the bodice beadwork. In fact, I believe they are sending it to Jim Hjelm to repair. My dress will be perfect once again (some day!). I love my gown, and I'm thrilled that I've already worn it THREE times. And I'm psyched that it will be restored to its former glory (whether or not it ever gets worn again).

update on the move: January! We're planning to pack up after the holidays (which we'll spend in NY) and head out. Job or no job, we're heading east. We're recruiting folks to make the trek with us (my sister is our fist volunteer - since we have 2 cars we'd like 2 in each to make for a more social trip). I'm so excited, and terrified . I know once we leave I'll miss SF terribly, but I'm psyched to be closer to my family (of course we may be living with my parents for awhile so that sentiment may change quickly...)

update on the job: its still great but I've become somewhat disillusioned. I want to make everything perfect for the brides and thats sometimes not possible. Also it doesn't seem like the guy I work for is really in it for his love of flowers which is disappointing. But its the most fun I've ever had at a job, and at the same time, I think I'll be ready to move on in a few months.

I was thinking of you just the other day and wondering how my dream job was treating you Before I forget I was thinking please let her be pregnant I am happy you will be moving back, yes for my own selfish reason I am still waiting to meet you. I am so happy your dress will be restored. How awesome is that???

PS sorry to hear that Jun is not in it for the love of flowers. PS have you met with any bridezillas yet???

Lisa and Shamma ... are you going to open up your own bridal planning co. ? If I was getting married again, I'd totally hire you!

Great news - about the dress AND your move! I sometimes wish DH and I would have lived somewhere else for these past few years - after all, this is the best time to do that, before a family and all, but it just wasn't possible for us for a few reasons. Anyway, I'm sure it will be nice for you to be back closer to your family too - and of course for our GTGs!!

Sorry to hear about the job, but hey, I guess it made your decision to move a bit easier!

Thanks everyone! What pleasant messages to wake up to!

Alison - we'll be heading back to Long Island, at least initially since we have plenty of people there that we can stay with, until we find jobs and a house. I don't want to live in NYC again, though Westchester or NJ are options (the point is to be closer to home, I'm just not sure how close is too close).

Sounds like a great plan! It will all work out in the end with jobs, etc. I moved to TX w/out a job or knowing anyone but my girlfriend I moved down here with. Found a job pretty quickly, made amazing friends and met and married DH! So, it may be stressful at first, but before you know it you will look back and realize it was a great decision. Good luck!

Wow, Lisa Such wonderful news! Sorry to hear about the dress (again!), but I am so glad it's being repaired!

About the move....I totally understand how you feel. We lived w/my parents until we found our house. It's not ideal, but there are positive points to it also. As far as missing SF...I think once you and Al are here, the four of us should start an 'I Left My Heart in SF' social club! We miss it too, every single day. But, we know we'll be back there to visit alot...and being closer to family and old friends definitely has its benefits, too!

happy for you...sad for me...although maybe we can try to get up to SF before you leave...


I haven't even seen my wedclean dress yet...I wonder about my beading
