We just talked about this. He wants a new watch, so I will probably get something similar to this.

Re: V Day gift ideas

I'm going for sentimental rather than monetary because he is THE WORST to shop for.

I am making a book -photobook with my old emails/letters to him from beginning of our relationship till now-the cards I gave him over years-scanning pieces of them etc.

I'm going to list all the reasons I love him and post appropriate pictures.

ie: I love you because you are one of the ost gentle, compassionate men I know who can be soft while being strong.

Then I will put in a pic of him sleeping with our kitten and the one of himsnuggling with me on the couch looking all big bald and bas@ss lol. believe it or not he LIKES sentimental gifts. Gets a kick out of them.

Go sentimental-make hima coupon book of redeemable 'prizes' ; you doing the chores he hates the most, a backrub, some sexy time, whatever. Pete alsways tells me he prefers my love and support over anythign I can give him monetarily-they're big strong men but they need to know they're loved....

UNLESS -grins teasing- You want to take hiswatch and trade it in for a newer model

JOKING!

I have to get a move on-tracking down pictures and stuff. Alot of work but He'll like it.

Another thing I did for him 2 years ago was took his face and worked it in a graphics prgram with a pic of Superman so that I was able to turn him into Superman and me into Lois Lane-have it around somwhere lol. Its pretty dang good if I say so myself. He got a kick out of that, because I always call him MY Superman.

hahahah
well, he bought himself a new watch when he bought me one (we now match)

So I was THINKING I'd buy a double watch winder for us (our watches are 'self-winding') Um, then I tried to find one. They are like $300+!

Re: V Day gift ideas

we've never gone crazy for V-day with gifts. usually just some cute stuff & then a date night Last year I got DH two pairs of silly v-day boxer shorts, made him a big cookie cake in the shape of a heart(and decorated it bakery style! i was very proud of myself!), and got him a silly singing v-day monkey that made us both crack up....he got me a dozen long stem roses, a HUUUUGE heart box filled with homemade chocolates from the candy boutique on our block, and a big humongous teddy bear then we went to dinner & a movie...(oh - and i bought a really sexy set of lingerie )

I think we will just do dinner no gift exchange. We have never been the gift givers for Valentines Day. Randomly DH will get me something but not on the regular.

Re: V Day gift ideas

jen - that scrapbook idea is so great! i have a whole box of stuff for DH & i, but it's mostly stuff he's given me...he kept everything i wrote to him up untill we moved in after the wedding - then he tossed it during the move! i was like 'WHAT?!?!! WHAT DO U MEAN U THREW IT OUT?!?!' he was like 'well i've had it for five years..i figured it was one less thing we'd have stuffed in a closet somewhere'...i was so pissed! lol but whatever..as long as we still have 'our' box i guess. he was just being a guy lol. but i do LOVE ur idea - awesome awesome. Sentimental stuff is the best... The V-day right before i went away to school, i got a red box that said 'love' on it & it buttoned shut...i filled it with 101 hershy kisses, and tied a label to each one with a reason why i loved him. When he opened the box i had a sign that said '101 Reasons Why I Love You'...he still has the box & just finished the kisses a few months ago! the reasons are still all inside it was a lot of work, but he loved it Everytime he'd pull out a kiss he'd call me to tell me what it said & we'd laugh. Just another idea for ya caroline!

I'll probably get DH a big box of chocolate. Did I mention he's allergic to chocolate?

Nah, seriously, we're not big gift givers for Vday. I'm planning on baking him a cake (not chocolate) and he'll prob get me a card and candy. We'll go out to dinner also.

Today I bought two lingerie 'outfits' for him to unwrap We purchase two items at recent co-ed PP we attended. Plan on purchasing him a couple of pairs of jeans and some polos. Might surprise him with a late night dinner (something with scallops). Last year we went to Franks(our fav) and the food was cold and gross.

very unromantic, but hey, it's what he wants

We are so different from men, this is probably the last thing on thier minds
I'll probably bake him his favorite oatmeal cookies
and get him something little.
Then the week before I have to start nagging him that valentines day is comming up & he better not forget to get me a card, he's only romantic when he feels like it & it doesnt always fall on a holiday

I have no idea, I know we are trying to save for a house, so it's gonna be a modest gift, but trying to make it special asit'll be our first married V-day.
