DH might be getting a new job where he'll have almost 10 more vacation days a year than me!! Does anyone else have a similar situation? Not sure what to do with all that extra time

My DH gets 6 weeks and he's new!! So unfair I get a measly 2. Plus he has personal days

he can just use it for days to take off and just stay home and relax once in a while.

i get paid for none I take off I don't get paid at all = dh gets like 3 weeks off plus sick/pers. I work for the damn state they just haven't hired me as perm.

We both work for the state. I have more time though, been here longer. Your DH can use the time to get stuff done around the home or rest. My stepdad uses his time to work around the house, since he gets much more time than my mom. I have kids, so I use time to be with them in the summer. He has more sick though since I used mine for multiple surgeries the last few years.

i have 3 weeks, DH gets 4 weeks, plus his boss lets him have a ton of 'freebies' which is great for DH, but sux for me. this summer he worked only 2 fridays, while i had to haul myself to work. meh!

Try being married to a NYC fireman. He gets an automatic 6 weeks off every year (he doesn' t get to choose when it is though). These 6 weeks are taken all together. Plus, with their schedules, he can manage to be off for 2 or 3 weeks and just have guys cover his tours for him and then he'll just owe them right back. I only get 2 weeks, but next year, 2009, I get 3....whoooopee....compared to what he gets.

He can use them to DO LAUNDRY or COOK FOR YOU
Maybe the carpets need to be hand cleaned?
Maybe the shower can be scrubbed for a week?
Maybe the walls can be painted a new color?
I can think of LOTS to do with that time.

DH has like 6 weeks off i have 3.. he like to nap!!
no yesterday he took off and brought my car in to get fixed and picked up my meds!

Dh gets 3 weeks but a ton of sick and personal, plus the way his work schedule is, he gets every 8 weeks he gets 5 days off in a row
so usually does the outside stuff, them we will help with cleaning the tub and shower, scrubbing the kitchen floor and dishes, all the stuff i hate doing.
last vacation he remodeled our bathroom

DH gets 4 weeks, 2 of which have to be taken consecutively. Then he also gets sick and personal days on top of that. I only get 2 weeks.

Does anyone else notice that its mostly men who have more vacation time? I guess it has to do with the industries they work in... I like the idea of making him remodel the house on his vacation - lol! New kitchen for me!

I have more vacation days than my husband does but he has every other Friday off. It doesn't seem to pose a problem for us at all.

DH has off a few months because his business is seasonal. He enjoys relaxing during that time because he works very hard during the rest of the year. I don't expect him to do anything but relax during that time bc I sure as heck am only relaxing on my vacation days. It is nice to come home and have him home already. The only hard part is when I get up at 5:30AM and I see him still all snuggly in bed with our dog, LOL.
