Anyone ever been to Grenada? My boss highly recommended it as a great place to get away. My travel agent also recommended St. lucia, but that sounds like the touristy/resort type of place to me. We're looking to get away, relax but also go hiking, horseback riding, etc. Any suggestions on these 2 places?

We are going to try and go to St. John USVI this year. Most of the Island is state park so it's not as touristy as the other islands.
Where do u plan on staying in St. John's? My husband and I have been looking over the last 2 weeks to book our vacation there. We can get a good deal at the Westin but I've seen some bad reviews online. The other that I heard was incredible (but I think very expensive) is Caneel Bay..

Actually we are looking at the Westin ourselves. It's in the RCI timeshare network which is how we were going to get it.
What kind of reviews have you seen?
Not sure if this will help but we are going on a 10 southern carribean cruise for our 1 year anniversary and have been looking into the islands that we will be visiting
St Thomas/St John, Barbados, Martinique StMaarten, St Lucia--out of the 5 ports I have heard amazing things about St John and St Lucia-- even before we see it I know that St John is an island that we are going to want to go back to for a land vacation--if you want more specifics on any of these please ask--although of course I havent had to look for places to stay

I've found mixed reviews while researching online the Westin in St. John's. The island though sounds wonderful. My husband and I have decided on going to Anguilla instead and we can use our freq flyer miles instead!
