What do you usually do for your guy on Valentines Day - gift wise. It seems to me that it's just so much more of a GIRL holiday, but do you get anything for HIM?
Last year when we were dating (and still long distance) I baked him some yummy snacks like cookies and such and then sent it out there to him. Now that we're married, I'm not sure what to do. I mean, yeah i could bake him some of his favorites (and put on something really 'cute') but I'm curious if I should do something more special being that it IS our first V-day together.
what do you all do??

I get him little stuff like boxers, chocolates, tees, maybe a video game. one year i did bake cookies too. this year i'll probably get him the usual little stuff and let him go out and buy a new lens for his dslr camera.

I've made chocolate (melt the wafers and fill the molds lol) but he's not really a candy person. If I make cookies or brownies, he'll eat it in one sitting lol. What about a CD or goodies? Are you going out? If not, make his favorite meal or make it for lunch.

Re: Valentines Day - for HIM
Good question lol, usually i do something big for his birthday with is just 9 days before so as far as a gift i do it then and for dinner i take him out for his bday so again i do that then lol. He gets lucky too bc my day is day after vday so he can also combine them.

Re: Valentines Day - for HIM
Dh's Bday is 4 days after Vday and we like to keep Vday low-key. We usually get takeout and have a romantic night at home. He gets me flowers and a card and like a DVD or something small I've been wanting.
I get him chocolates and a card and usually some lingerie!
I spend a lot on his birthday and make a big deal out of that. Vday for us is just a commercial holidy so we don't make a big deal.

Last year I made him cookies with frosting and colored sugar, and made a nice dinner. This year I'll prob do something similar unless I think of something he wants that's not so ...still recovering form Christmas lol.

Vday everything is over priced, flowers, candy, restraunts so DH and I are celebrarting the following weekend. He thinks we are just going out to dinner but I booked a hotel in the City reasonably. I got him cute pj pants (that say hot one on them lol), candy, and I am going get him a husband card (Finally I've been waiting forever to buy a husband card).

Re: Valentines Day - for HIM
Last year DH and I cooked a fancy dinner together and it was a lot of fun. This year my parents are visiting on valentine's day so we decided we would use the gift certificate for a nice restaurant we got for our wedding the week before. That way it's not so overpriced.
We decided a few years ago that for everything but birthdays we would do special things instead of presents--for example, for Christmas we went on a cruise together. It's much less stressful for me than picking out gifts!

Re: Valentines Day - for HIM
we don't make a huge deal with gifts on VDay..i usually get him something frisky/cute with some of his favorite candy..(last year i got him 'love dice' lol, candy garter(for me ), a pair of funny vday boxers, some other stuff & then candy he likes...he's a candy-holic so thats why ) he usually spoils me with flowers, stuffed animals, chocolate etc... but we try to make it more of a special date night rather than another gift giving holiday. holidays are dec-jan, and then our bdays are in march.... so we leave vday for just a special night out i remember our first vday we both had to work during the day...but i got home first...i lit the whole apt. with candles and was waiting in something really sexy with dinner already made...we spent the night in that night!
(ps: if u do wanna get him something special - what about tickets to a game or something?? also, weren't u guys thinking of getting wedding tattoos??? what about surprising him with a trip to the tattoo parlor??)

Re: Valentines Day - for HIM
We don't usually get each other anything too huge...just cards and then I cook a special dinner and we actually use our dinning room table and light candles, etc.
I'm bigger on celebrating our wedding anniversary and birthdays, and my fav Xmas for the gift exchange :o)

that is CRAZY, Taryn! I like it That really would be cool to get our tattoos on that day. I'm kind of in a weird position though, considering that I'm not from around here so I wouldn't know which tattoo places are the GOOD ones, ya know? But I'm definitely gonna consider that. Thanks.

We don't really do gifts either... we just go out to a nice dinner and that's our celebration. This year, we're going to see Will Ferrell's show on Broadway and then out to dinner in the city... on the 15th. So on the 14th I'll probably cook dinner and we'll just hang out and watch a movie together. Nothing crazy.

Does letting him rock the back door count as a gift?
