Valentine's stress!

Valentine's stress!

OK - I'm married now, and for some reason this year I'm stressing out about something FABULOUS to do for my new husband for valentines day! He's been incredibly romantic since the big day (which was more typical of him when we FIRST started dating 4 years ago) - and I've always been pretty romantic, but I've been slacking since I've been so busy lately. He's also been through a lot this year (his father is very sick and his business went under and he was unemployed for a year STARTING from when we were engaged - and NOW he has a new job that is waring him out!). He really needs a pick-me-up and I can tell he's craving something very romantic and creative from me..... MAYBE this is why i'm stressing about it!

I know he made reservations at our favorite french restaurant already.... but I'm THINKING of cancelling the reservation and doing something else to surprise him - maybe a big dinner at home or something else creative....

any ideas? HELP!!

Valentine`s stress!

Depending on how much $$ you want to spend, you could go to a B&B. The kind that have a jacuzzi in the room. I don't know how much it is now, but I went to the copperbeech inn a few years ago. they have a website. It was very romantic. I'm sure there are other places that are not too pricey and just as nice.

Valentine`s stress!...some ideas...

A night at a B&B is a nice idea, but you could create a nice romantic atmosphere at home, too...and it might be more cost effective.

I might get laughed at, but I'll take that risk...(the pregnant lady is in need of some romance, too!) :)

You could set the mood by sending him an invitation (via email, if he has email) with hints about the romantic surprises that you have planned.

If you like to cook, you might try whipping up his favorite meal; there are plenty of recipes on Foodtv.com.
You could make something completely decadent for dessert - or keep it simple with chocolate covered strawberries and wine or champagne.

Light a bunch of candles around the house and promise him a relaxing bubble bath for two or a full body massage after dinner (or before);)

Buy new lingerie to wear - maybe get something sexy for him to wear, too!

The point is, your sweetie needs quality time with you to unwind and de-stress. You don't need to spend a lot of money to fulfill that need.
Have fun, be creative and most of all - show him how much he is loved!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Claud..

Yay! I'm inspired!!

I like the b&b idea too- although, we do that a lot & I was looking for something to do at home (he'll think we're still going out for dinner... I really love the invitation idea though...)

THANKS!!! Any other suggestions? WHat's everyone else doing this year?

Scavenger Hunt

My friend and I did this for our boyfriends one year (my hubby before he was my hubby) and it was fun. We went all over town and left them clues and the end was us waiting at home with a picnic dinner.

You could even just do it around the house/apt.!

We are not doing anything for Valentine's Day per se -- but for Christmas I surprised my husband with a weekend at a cabin (it just happenes to be that weekend of Valentine's Day). I can't wait -- it's the honeymoon cabin with jacuzzi outside on the deck, whirlpool tub inside, and heated tile floors in the bathroom. We really need a little getaway with each other.

GOOD LUCK with everyone's ideas.

Scavenger Hunts--Love 'Em:)!!

My hubby did a Scavenger Hunt for me a few years ago for the anniversary of our meeting and it was so much fun!! He left clues all over town and I had a BALL!! Since we actually just moved into our home last weekend (we closed in October--don't ask...) we're still EYE deep in the clean up phase(aagh!!)... I figure in two weeks we'll see some light, but I want to do something at home too... What about having a masseuse (sp?) come to the home? My hubby really needs that!

Anyway I need ideas for stuff to do at home so let them keep flowing!!

So I guess getting his car detailed -He will Love it

Not romantic, but he will love it, my husband owns a business doing that and if he's never had it done before- trust me he will be amazed, he'll think he's driving a new car. p.s. It's not a cheap gift either...Good luck.
