Vegas help

We are going on our 'official' honeymoon late February. I am trying to plan a day for the two of us just to do romantic stuff. I need suggestions for a nice, romantic dinner.

We don't eat fish so a really great steakhouse or italian restaurant would be awesome. I've never been to Vegas before so I am relying on the LIW ladies :)

Any suggestions????

Re: Vegas help

Prime is a great steakhouse in the Bellagio. Reservations are hard to come by so reserve early.

Delmonico's Steakhouse (owned by Emeril) is AWESOME!!! Everything was absolutely amazing when we went. Great atmosphere too.

Steph/Latina - I was just on lasvegas.com and saw both of those.......both look amazing!!!

Which is more quiet/romantic????

I never went to Prime so I really can't say. Thanks Stef for the recommendation, we love steak so I will def try it out the next time we are in Vegas.

Delmonicos to me was romantic. It was quiet, the lights were dim, not crowded, comfortable and just loved the atmosphere. Def make reservations early. Servers were very tentative.

Re: Vegas help

I have not been to Delmonicos so I cant say which is more but:

Prime is run by Jean George which is a pretty famous chef (not famous in the way Emeril is famous ... famous b/c his NYC restaurants are so good/posh etc...)

The atmosphere at Prime is very quiet and romantic. Low lighting, beautiful room, excellent service. It overlooks the fountains of Bellagio which are really beautiful at night.

So my guess is that Prime is more upscale based on the chef...but its probably less expensive too. Both are probably booked everynight.

We went to Vegas for our honeymoon and our first dinner was at Delmonicos. The food was amazing, the decor is classy and you have 3 waiters serving you!

Also, highly recommended is the Top of the World at the Stratosphere. We ate there the last name. The view is amazing and the food was great also.

We went to Top of World too and thought the food was not very good at all. Maybe we chose the wrong dishes?

Didnt you think it was kind of eh to have to go thru that whole esclator/elevator thing to get to the restaurant?

I thought it was going to be nicer.

DH and I had a very romantic dinner at Zefferino's in The Venetian. Ask for a table that overlooks the Gondola. It is an Italian restaurant owned by the Scotto Bros. (Yes, the ones from NY). great service, great food, very romantic.

Some online reviews I found:

Zeffirino

Truly a dinning experience that will rival any restaurant in any city! Zeffirino’s is a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant settled within The Venetian Hotel, Resort & Casino, overlooking the Grand Canal. Why spend a few thousand dollars and visit Italy when you can visit the only true authentic Italian restaurant in Las Vegas. The original Zeffirino in Genoa, Italy was founded in 1939, the Las Vegas Zeffirino’s was completed in 1999. I must admit that my first experience a couple years ago was a little shaky. On subsequent numerous visits the quality of the food, staff, the ambiance and the restaurant itself are an extravaganza that far exceeds anyone’s expectations. Zeffirino’s is like stepping into Italy and best of all -- it is priced conservatively. Yes, Gourmet food and excellent service in Las Vegas for a modest cost! Reservations are suggested, although this restaurant seats more than 500, it is that popular. For you buffet experts, try their magnificent Sunday Brunch, priced more than a standard buffet, but worth it! Outstanding food and wine selection, and talk about pastries, they make their own. Stop in next door to their pastry outlet, everything from wedding cakes to cookies. Say hi to my friend Rino Cola, his the head of Public Relations for more than 20 years. Do not be surprised to see me at this remarkable restaurant, it is becoming my new home away from home. Beyond the gourmet food and the outstanding ambiance this wonderful restaurant offers something rare. In my travels to 75 countries and untold number of restaurants, the staff at Zeffirino’s is unsurpassed - a rare find. These perfectionist are genuine people that care about making your dining experience the best. Do not be surprised to see Giuliano Berto, Co-Owner/Operational Officer, or Jerry Mannino, General Manager, coming by your table to make sure everything is perfect. These extraordinary men along with an impeccable staff stand ready to make your dining experience memorable every time you visit their restaurant. 702-414-3500. 3377 Las Vegas Blvd S.

I went to a great restaurant on the top floor of the Rio Hotel (right off the strip). It has views of the entire strip and the food was GREAT. I don't remember the name but I am sure if you call the hotel they will tell you.

The way Stef described Prime I would def be going there next time. Sounds more romantic to me especially with the view of the Bellagio fountain. Beautiful!

we had our post-wedding lunch at zefferino's and it was great. we had a quiet room, got to see the gondolas. but not totally romantic because along with the gondolas you see the crowd at the mexican restaurant below. im definitely interested in the one stef mentioned.

We ate at a fantastic restaurant in Treasure Island called the Buccaneer Bay Club. Sounds cheezy, but it the atmosphere and food were both incredible. Very cozy and romantic...but you can also watch the pirate battle from the window, so it's fun too. And the menu is varied and the food is very good...don't skip the souffles for dessert! YUM!!

Re: Vegas help

I'm thinking I am going to make a reservation for Prime - I'll say its our honeymoon and I'd like a table with a view of the fountain.

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to get re-married by Elvis and we're all set Stef - where did you and DH go?

I also want to have a spa treatment at Canyon Ranch - so much to do in the short time we are there!!!

Thank you girls for all your suggestions - you always come through

Allison - that place sounds fun!!!!

Re: Vegas help

We went to Cupids Wedding Chapel...and the Elvis was pretty good..but there are a million others. Although its a little pricey seeing as its just a joke sort of thing..but it was an experience :D

Have fun at Prime...it was very yummy.

Also at the Bellagio is Picasso which is supposed to be the best restaurant in Vegas. We couldnt get a reservation b/c we waited too long but if you are looking to splurge on another really expensive meal, its another option.

Re: Vegas help

DH goes to Vegas every year with his friends and spends 10 hours straight just gambling - I want to Vegas all out for him. I want to do nice things such as dinner and 'O' as well as the marriage by Elvis thing. It'll be worth every penny.

Stef - thank you sooo much for all your help and recommendations. Its been a HUGE help. I am going to make reservations later tonight!!!!
