Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

we stayed at the Excalibur which is at the southern tip of the strip ... the room was very nice and very affordable. only negative was that it was kind of far from everything. i'd stick with the center of the strip, if possible.

DH and I went to KA (cirque du soleil) and it was one of the most amazing shows ever ... try to go if you can!

ps: check out the deals on travelzoo ... right now, there's a vegas hotel + flight (4 days, 3 nights) for $315 per person and it includes 2 show tickets! click me

Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

I have been to Vegas 4 times. I recommend either stay at Mandalay Bay or the Hard Rock.

Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

I've been to Vegas 5 times and I'm going again in July lol I've stayed at the Riviera, Flamingo, Imperial Palace and TI. TI was my favorite out of all of them. The location is great, they always have awesome deals on rooms and the buffet is AWESOME! lol When I go in July I'm staying at the Flamingo again (best pool in Vegas) because I got a really good deal on Cyber Monday. My dream hotel has always been the Venetian. It's so beautiful there. We don't like to spend a lot on hotels though because you don't spend a lot of time in the room, especially in Vegas.

As far as shows I've seen Mystere and Love Cirque du Soleil shows. Love was fantastic if you like the Beatles! This time we're going to see Zumanity. I've also seen the Amazing Jonathan (so funny) and La Cage.

Kahunaville in TI is a MUST! It's a bar/restaurant but the bartenders do tricks with bottles and things like that and they have a contest where the audience judges who does the tricks the best. They pour out free shots and it's a really really fun time.

Also, if you want to do something off the strip, 2 years ago when we went last we went ATV riding in the desert. They picked us up, we rode to the CA/NV border to a casino there, had lunch then rode back. It was one of the coolest things we've done there.

We've done so much there so if you have any questions feel free to FM me.

we were there for 3 days and it was enough for us ... but we don't gamble so we had to find entertainment elsewhere (which was easy enough).

here are some random things we did that were fun (and affordable):
TI has a nightly show for free ... like 15 mins long only but worth it

Flamingo has an AWESOME area in the back with a beautiful botanical area and a bunch of animals (flamingos and other birds, mostly)

There's a marine area in the Mirage (i believe) with dolphins and whatnot (not free)

MGM has live lions by their main door (caged obviuosly lol)

you can google for more ideas ... i found a lot of these on about.com when we went

Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

4-5 days is more than enough time.

I have stayed at Excalibur, Luxor, and Aladdin (now planet hollywood). Loved the luxor. Planet Hollywood is in a great location in the middle of the strip but I haven't seen it since it was changed over. You can't go wrong with the Venetian or Bellagio also.

Def. go down to Freemont Street one night to the old casinos and they have the overhead light show.

Blueman group is a great show to see there as well.

have fun!!

Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

be careful that many of the hotels out there charge a daily resort fee ... quite a surprise when you think you've paid for your room and you have another $50 - $70 charge upon check out ...

Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

Ohhh I miss vegas! I have stayed at the Monte Carlo and at New York New York. Both awesome but both are at the end of the strip. All of the hotels are awesome....you just have to decide what your looking for. High end hotel, moderate hotel, or eh its ok your in a hotel on the strip lol.

Any cirque show is great to. I saw zumanity and it was ok, I think there is better cirque shows to see out there.

I would save at least one day to walk the entire strip to see all of the hotels and what each has to offfer since they are all a different world inside.

Definitely go out and experience the nightlife, its alot of fun.

And go off the strip to check out the palms, rio and hard rock

Re: VEGAS VACATION HELP

Have brunch at the Paris.

Have dinner at the buffet in the Rio.

Watch the statue show at Caesar's Palace.

Go to the afternoon comedy show at the Stratosphere.

Get a coupon book -- it will give you great deals on shows and other stuff and get you into the afternoon shows with the purchase of a drink.

If you like medieval times, they have a very fun show at the Excalibur.

Go to as many hotels as you can -- especially the specialty ones! The Bellagio is beautiful; the Luxor is awesome to be around; Caesar's is fun to shop in

Have fun!!!
