Vendor Reviews

I just put up another review for a LIW vendor - Charles Henry. It was my pleasure to do so, he was wonderful. I also reviewed my invitation company (Express Press Printing - another gem). It hasn't shown up yet in the Review section, so I'm not sure how long it takes.

A lot of times, the bad vendors or experiences get all the attention. I think it's just as important to praise the good ones.

I wanted to make sure I didn't have to retype my reviews so I FM'd and they told me they're reviewed and if acceptable, posted each Monday.

I'll check on Tuesday and see if they showed up or not.

That's probably why my review/my mother's review/my sister's review wasn't posted. They were negative reviews (even though they weren't bashing nasty reviews).

Doesn't matter anyway because that particular vendor is thankfully no longer a LIW vendor, and I know many girls who had originally booked canceled and booked elsewhere.

The negative reviews are really important though! To warn other brides against a potential problem. If you can't get that kind of info here, what is the point of having the review? Good reviews are great but they're misleading if that's all you're allowed to see. IMHO.

I absolutely agree!!!! HOWEVER.. the reasoning is because these vendors pay to advertise here and are the main source of income to the Bridal Group which owns the LIW/LIF boards. If they pull their advertising then that's lost income. It's totally unfair I know...especially since it's us brides that fuel the bridal business economy, but that's the way it is! I had a lengthy phone convo with Ron after my wedding about this particular vendor.

I was able to post my review on the brides review board without it being taken down, because of the manner in which I wrote it.

I see your point. I guess if they're aware of a consistent problem, and take action on it, it's better than nothing!

You don't always get the full story either, sometimes you get something embellished because someone feels wronged.

When you complain to the BBB about a company, they have a chance to rebut it or make amends. It's not really something that you can do here though, can you? That would be sticky, with all the women here.

Well, it's Monday and I'll be checking to see if my invitation company and piano player/DJ reviews appear by tomorrow.

If a submission has inaccurate information (phony names, email phone, etc) they are presumed false and not posted. HTH

Not to get into it, b/c my wedding was 7 months ago,and it's a VERY sore subject with me (I still can't look at my proofs!), as well as the fact that she is no longer a vendor here.... but I did post up a review under a valid email, name, phone etc... and it was never posted. Only two reviews (by the same person) that gave the vendor a 10 rating were posted.

ETA: Another bride just had a problem with this vendor too. She showed up 2 hours late! Dispictable and inexcusable!

Just as a follow-up, both of my reviews were posted. I was the first to review both of them too!
