So, my cousin (who was my mother's flower girl) lives out of state, think 90210, and she and her hubby are VERY well off. They couldn't make it to our wedding and they didn't send a gift (whole other story) so I am just seeing her now. She said, 'Oh, let me see your rings!' And then she goes like this: 'Aw, cute.'

CUTE? Okay. Here's the deal. Her DH just got her a new bridal set. She has a flawless princess cut three stone. The center is 3 carats, the sides are each one, and she has a 2 carat total weight princess cut eternity band. Can we say bling???? Even DH, who isn't into staring/checking out rings could not help himself.

My rings aren't like that, but come on...'aw, cute'! My ering is 1.5, my wedding band is 1.3 total (1/2 eternity.) I was insulted, and so was DH. Should I be?

Money can't buy manners! Obviously, she is living proof. You could tell her that your bigger set is in the vault because you don't want to attract that much attention.

Pleeeeeeeeze! She could learn a thing or two from you.

Her marriage will probably not last..yours will.

OK, I admitt you guys have MIL and RichyRich cousin issues... but,I share in the agony.. I have a SIL from HELL! Red hot,pitch fork holding,evil looking-SATANN herself! (you didn't know that SATANN was of the female gender?)

I promise to share juicey stories...actually they'll be Repost's, since I have vented in the past but nothing like round #2.
For now I'm going home...but I leave you with this.. she couldn't come to our wedding because her 'cat Benji' was sick she was soooooo besides herself with worry.. Oh yeah,this was the same cat she once forgot to feed..FOR 2 WEEKS!!!

Id be a little insulted, but honestly I dont care. I never even asked my husband how many carats my ring is and I dont care. I told him to buy me a CZ because there were more important things to buy but he wouldnt listen. Some people seem all about the bling. I wouldnt listen to her. Sounds like a snob to me.

OMG, I got engaged right after I quit a crummy job.

I went in with DH to pick up my last paycheck and my piece of TRASH former boss said 'Oh, that's so cute'

I don't know why it popped into my head, but I said 'Thanks, it reminds me of yours' That sure did shut her up.

I don't even know why I said that because our rings are TOTALLY different.

DH and I left laughing. Sure, her ring was maybe a 1/2 carat larger than mine, but it seriously looked like CRACKED MILK

Suven--that's how I describe a coworker's ring of mine...it's about 2.5 carats but it looks like milk was poured over it.

And what is it with CUTE? I have seen pics of yours...it is gorgeous!

Holy Crow. 'Cute?' Honestly that just sounds like she was TRYING to hurt your feelings. Be glad she didn't come to your wedding...she doesn't sound like a very nice person.

Adding to the cute thing because I just remembered something...one of my co-workers saw my e-ring before I was married and she too said 'cute'. I thought nothing of it (hey where I work people have 5 ct. rocks that are bought here) but afterwards I was like 'yeah, for you beyotch!'

unbelievable!!!! people forget to realize the REAL meaning behind an engagement ring and wedding band...people like that make me think they arent true to the marriage that they are out for themselves..and what people think of them when they look at the rings!!! i would be insulted too..but ya know what you are happy and know what marriage is all about ..so you are the BLING in my eyes!!!
